You guys know "core" is just some made up corporate bullshit right? Its a way to refer to real companies without calling your corporate basketball shoe company corporate outsiders. Instead of saying "How do corporate outsiders infiltrate a self-made cottage industry?" they say "how can companies like Nike get respect from the 'core' brand focused market?"  They then can work to influence people to have an incredibly inflexible view of what the term "core" (which corporate ad execs created) means, so that they feel "we all sell out" and therefore legitimize buying Nike products in a market that at one point consistently rejected them and companies like them.
The goal is to get skateboarders confused and saying "[fill in the company name] is [fill in the blank with some weird punk rock ideal they don't fit], so its basically the same as [insert corporate brand here]"
Skateboarders shouldn't argue about what is "core" because its playing their lame corporate game, and should stop buying shit from companies like Nike, Adidas, Converse, etc.
Welcome is a normal skateboard company not created or owned by any corporate subsidiary. After that point is clear, arguing over whether they are "core" is some kook shit.

Does Nike want us to think of Juicy Elbows as core so they can infiltrate our market?

I never thought I'd miss the pappalardo threads from a couple of years ago until every other thread became about cody mcentire or welcome

I don't know dude, lots of times these shit threads are where the best slappin' happens. Where else would I ever heard of DF13 skateboards and seen a board graphic as sick as this?

This company can't be real right? Who would brag that they started a company because they had leftover shirts to get rid of? What happens if you actually order one of those horrific pairs of shoes? They actually get them custom made to order or they just e-mail you back and say "Sorry, those are unavailable."? Almost tempted to try just to find out.

Edit: HOLY SHIT $240.00?!?!?!?

Extreme upper paneling!

"This hi-top sneaker is inspired by futuristic themes. Features extreme upper paneling and built with embossed details, turned profiles and a strap ankle belt.

The new DF13 MTECH-I is not only stylish but is handcrafted by Italian mastercrafters and feature pristine Italian leather. Each pair is one-of-a-kind: a combination of handcrafting tradition, quality and modern style. Perfectly Italian."

Someone had to assume the thankless role as the "Limp Bizkit" of the skate industry. I mean that's what this is right? A literal interpretation of Nu-metal via the skateboarding medium.

Dreadful.
