Title: Vuori Clothing?
Post by: cloudy on July 07, 2018, 09:44:59 AM
southern california has been going through a pretty gnarly heat wave these past few days. i thought i'd beat the heat today by getting in an early morning session, but i still ended up with a case of swamp ass more hectic than chris joslin in etnies' album. upon scouring the net for some more breezy apparel, i came across this brand called vuori - https://www.vuoriclothing.com/ (https://www.vuoriclothing.com/). they seem pretty bro-ish, what with the shirtless crossfit dudes and all, so i was surprised to learn that the company was co-founded by og ripper chris miller. this article even has some pictures of him skating and surfing in their gear - http://surfandabide.com/chris-miller-skateboarding-surfing-yoga-and-the-creative-life/ (http://surfandabide.com/chris-miller-skateboarding-surfing-yoga-and-the-creative-life/). without going into too much gory detail, these quick-drying, anti-odor joints would have been pretty useful for this morning's session - https://www.vuoriclothing.com/shop/products/shorts/banks-short/ (https://www.vuoriclothing.com/shop/products/shorts/banks-short/).

firstly, has anyone tried out these clothes? whether it be for skateboarding or any other recreational pursuit? i know that many of you probably feel that unless your name is lucas puig, you shouldn't be skating in athletic shorts, but as i get older, i'm beginning to care less about what my kit looks like and more about how functional it is.

secondly, do you think that there is a market for this type of clothing within skateboarding? between mike carroll promoting a crailtap foam roller and neen williams creating his own workout/cooking videos, there seems to be a growing demo of skaters who are more interested in healthy eating and cross-training as a way to prolong their skate careers. it'd be nice to have the option of purchasing some activewear from a skater-owned company, as opposed to from some shit like under armour or lululemon, that functions just as well at the skatepark as it does in the yoga studio. i realize that there are already skate companies out there that offer some athletic apparel, but, i don't know, something about this vuori stuff seems like it'd be better than your standard, run-of-the-mil diamond supply co bball shorts.

Vuori means mountain in Finnish. I like the name (Finnish pride) but the clothes look like the kind of shit you buy in a mall sports store.

Save more and buy the amazon brand ones! They’re cheap and comfy and good quality. They’re branded stuff is actually pretty quality and I find myself using it more and more. The sheets are super nice and really cheap.
