wes is such a kook
How? He seems like a nice guy who be fun to hang with.
-
Funny how he was almost affecting an Australian accent and using Australian lingo.
"Pebble Balboa" was the most interesting part of this interview.
He must have a ton of money saved up, or at least it seems like it if he's driving an old car and using an old phone, and stays in a room(?)
-
Neither of these guys know how to spell or pronounce names so it's no surprise that they misspelled Kremer. I was dying when they both butchered Trujillo for the opening Van's ad.

I think he was going for British accent. Anyway, dude doesn't just rent a room. He rents a house on Mission Beach. This is not cheap. I don't know that he's balling, but I'm sure he made a pretty penny off the Wes II so I doubt he's struggling.
Unrelated: Saying wigger is not cool. I shouldn't have to explain why a portmanteau of white and nigger, and its imlplication of a white person adopting stereotypical black traits makes that white person inferior is wildly offensive, but here I am. Again. A lot of idiots on here are too cavalier about it. Please say whatever you want but know that you suck.

I love Wes' skating and he seems like a really nice guy who would probably be a blast to hang out with. I don't even mind the whole everything-is-a-joke stoner vibe he's got going on. What makes this a horrible interview is that there's barely any substance. And that's the hosts' job to manage- to guide your interviewee to a place where they try and express their thoughts on something your audience might find meaningful. I don't know, maybe that would have been almost impossible here, but don't let your guest make a joke for five minutes about how he "loves all numbers", for example.
-
Yeah that was brutal.
-
He’s dope...I’m pretty sure he got his accent and slang from the Ol’ DIrty Smolik school of Real Life Pillage SK8 Mafia Suhn 👐🏿🤟🏿
-
wes is amazing, it seems like skate mafia does well despite peter smolik. Everything I ever read or hear about peter smolik is horrible.
-
Smolik is not with the mafia anymore. He does Real Life Pillage.

-
i'm never gonna listen to a wes interview again, but i enjoy his skating
-
Finally! Love The Bunt.
-
I can’t imagine a universe in which I would want to hear his thoughts on anything.
-
Did he at least have good answers for rapid fire?
-
Wes Kremer sounds like someone I would have been friends with in high school, who would still hug my mom if they ran into her at the grocery store a decade later. I mean that in the best way possible.
-
Still better than most Nine Club episodes
-
They really pronounced Trujillo like “ill” and said Darrell Stanton like Daryl in the same episode.
Wes sounds like a fried person but he’s funny and reminds of some old friends.
Lol @ pebble balboa
-
Loved his response to Trump building walls... Skaters would just build some tranny up to it, maybe make it a spine.

Good listen not afraid of giving his opinions, he must post on here because some of his answers to questions and rapid fire were things you read on slap daily

whats the trick josh wilson did that AA also did? mind is running blank
it was a huge wallie over a sidewalk [wallie 180?] and then it goes 'oh it's already been done? we don't give a fuck!' and a tank busts through the wall and puts a hook into the kid's back who typed 'already been done' to bronze56k.

This dude sounds like an entitled prick. I guess hating birdhouse is cool but come on. What has he done for skating. You can't talk shit on Tony Hawk's company. David Loy is the future of skating and Clint Walker is better than Jake Johnson any day of the week.

I like how blunt he was and didn't really hold back on his opinions. Any Nike rider talking about other dudes being jocks gotta look in the mirror too. Even though yes, most of the birdhouse team sucks.

Yeah so at this day and age you think they haven't seen the video yet they know what tricks were done by the members of the team, knowing their work is about commenting/practicing skateboarding and the tricks on the birdhouse video were some of the heaviest of 2017?
Like they see and know about every independent video from the east coast/cool guys, but they won't see the Birdhouse video because it's too jockish?
Then they ask for some Nike SB plug, then they comment for 30 minutes about big jockish sports like NBA,NFL, MLB or Hockey?
This is some pretentious and pathetic shit talk.

I also didn't watch the Birdhouse video, but everyone knows what Clive Dixon did down El Toro. It was all over IG. If not giving a fuck about that video makes somebody an East Coast elitist snob, then consider me Ricky Oyola.

I think they might run into issues given Kelly actually works for Sole Tech, and Chris is technically professional for Chocolate. Whereas the Bunt guys haven't really been anything above AM for Canadian companies or flow.

I think they also don't want ads in the show, it works on the bunt cuz they do the awkward sports radio talk, and the ads fall into that category perfectly. I think they are getting some level of backing though, they do all those events, a lot for Adidas especially, pretty sure they're making money on that. I wouldn't be surprised if the dudes associated with bigger brands bring in some promo money,if you remember for a while every other show seemed like a primitive rider. Then think of Nyjah being on, it was right after he dropped that part and they made a point to talk about and show his shoe for a few minutes.

Sinner on CTE
Actually that was one of the most entertaining ones I've listened to. Sinner's scattered as fuck, but seems weirdly self-aware and down to laugh at himself. I liked that they were clowning him the whole time, like blatantly laughing at some of the shit he came out with, but it didn't seem like cruel or bullying or anything. It was like Sinner was in on it, or maybe just oblivious and loving the vibe.
Best quote:

Like that edit, haven't seen it in years cuz everytime I've tried to find it gotta filter through a bunch of Shake Junt shit n just give up. Witnessed the Sinner trick go down up the stairs n Beagle did that one trick there where he rolled n ollied out of a lipslide a bunch of times the same day too.
That's a legit 5 stair he goes up too, only other tricks I've seen up that are ollies, front 180's, n no comply flips. Get's a bit of respect from me for the switch shove, ss bs flip, n that trick in the Shake Junt edit up that.
There's this little quick bank a hop, skip, n jump away where Austin Stevens did somethin it the Good n Evil video. One of his Chicago homies pulled a blunt, kickflip to fakie on it which was rad.
Interview made me laugh so many times, the story of choking Tave out like Bart Simpson then trying to choke out Jamie or Julien (I forget) at the same time puts a funny picture in my head.

Sinners voice sounds alot like Wayne's from Wayne's World in this. Wayne is supposed to be from Aurora, Illinois (not far from Chicago, where Sinner is from) in the movie, but ironically Wayne is played by Mike Myers who is actually Canadian. Anyway, that was one of the best bunt episodes. Sinners funny

I liked when he called out the really loose trucks thing. Seriously people stop being clowns and tighten up
Tight trucks are for fat skaters and people that buy ventures whom hate turning
Not all the way tight just enough where they don't rattle. Also I'm only 180 lbs and i ride indys
Not saying you're fat, just stating the tight truck demographic. My hardware is the tightest shit on my set up,and the only possible rattle...unless your trucks are like Daewon's.
I think some of the younger or newer guys on the scene skate trucks looser than Daewon, which is fucked. I'd actually be curious to actually try Max Palmer's set-up, as his shit looks loose as hell.
Also, didn't Matt Rodriguez skate both trucks with no bushings?

Dompierre fired some more shots than expected. I have lots of respect for him even if some of the stuff he does is cheesy. It sucks being caught in the social media celebrity swamp but if he inspires people then that's what counts.
Does anyone know where footage of the tailslide and noseblunt they talked about is?

Yeah, I have no idea how people skate like that. People I know who skate with Bobby DeKeyzer say he cuts his bushings in half.

Nick Dompierre is corny as fuck these days and wasted what seemed to be a lot of talent. His Masshole accent was terrible. They should have asked about the back noseblunt cover and why he used to always wear that terrible beanie.
I think this is hilarious.

I think it has something to do with him using Ben Hatchell hitting his head at the xgames as a opportunity to try to promote his shitty sponsors by tapping on his helmet and giving a smug look

we've hated him way before that.
i'm not sure if it's because of phelps or what but it goes back deep. on thrasher's early 90s video 'sponsor me' a young max shaaf is explaining how to kf 5-0 on the vert ramp and he disses andy mac during the 'hot to' description.
i believe andy mac was in phelps '15 hated skaters' alongside heavy hitters like billy pepper and the godoy brothers for 'doing whatever it takes to getting people's attention including busting a 540s and devil sticks. andy will do anything to get the attention his parents think he deserves'.
he perpetuates the hate w/ the inopportune helmet plug and other 'not cool' stuff whereas we can forgive almost anything, he's never been invited back to the cool table.

Who’d I miss? Gerwer is funny in context but I was talking about constructing jokes / delivery.
And I don’t really like j Lee’s humor, but I respect that he has comedic ability.
Both those dudes (Gary and j.lee) would be better at standup or inprov then anyone else that comes to mind. You could maybe make an arguement for O’connor. Not concidental that he and Gary have both been asked to MC events. It’s much harder than crafting quips on a message board.

-
I really like watching Skateline, but I never want to hear from him outside of that.
-
Gonna cast my vote for grant yansura being one of the funniest in skating. He might not have as much screentime but from the childish weekendtage jokes to all the serious/funny stuff he does now with wknd like the goodfool, id say hes in the top 5 for sure.
-
Thanks Gary, for the laughs and entertainment and props for your skating too....
I wanna also give props to Pilot Light for being one of the funniest (writers) in skateboarding, even though I don't get 33 % of the references and probably don't even notice a bunch of others.

This kid has never been funny, always stood out as a tryhard cornball jocking whatever thrasher tells him to. Can anyone confirm this dudes actually even from a rough neighborhood(s)? Most people that really are won’t go out of their way to say “yo I live by the streets yo” every other sentence.
Kids mom must be fuckin someone at thrasher. Get in where ya fit in I guess.
Why do those bunt kids talk so stupid? It has to be some sort of inside joke but that shits hella cringe.

I consider Gary hit or miss with the comedy. Good for him on his success and for having skateline running as long as it’s been though.
I wonder who the Long Beach people that got butt hurt were. You can feel the anger in his voice when he started talking about it.
Everyone is hit or miss with comedy, but Gary has a knack for joke strutcture. He’s absolutely the most comedic person in skateboarding since Jason lee.
These two host are unreal, do they talk like that in real life or is it a joke?
Gerwer is the funniest person in skateboarding. Gary is not.
Honestly considering his interviews that have actually made me laugh a lot I’d give it to jerry

Can you actually download theBunt podcasts anywhere? I'm not trying to pay for wifi on airplanes to listen to this shit.

I like Gary's comedy but he takes himself way more serious than I thought. Talked about "being signed" with Metro and then Thrasher. They aren't record labels and your not a rapper Gary.
-
yeah he seems to have gotten more hood the older he gets, usually the other way round...

Shoulda seen what this dude was wearing at the Dime weekend in MTL. Looked like a fucking clown. I walked by him thinking he was some corny ass rapper dude, didn't even realize it was him at first.

Grant is definitely really funny, him together with Boosh and Bob seems like it would be the recipe for an amazing skate podcast haha.
My other fav person, although he might not me popular here, I've always loved Sinclair.

Yo my dogs- is the people’s podcast done for the season?

Sinclair is somewhat of an annoying prick but he's equally hilarious and a great storyteller, so it evens out.

I can feel you on that. To me the dialect they use is a portal to a different time in my life when I was around dudes that spoke exactly like that in a serious tone...and they weren't even Canucks. I like the bunt for the nostalgia feels.

If an episode isn’t gonna get its own thread, can we at least get a new thread per season?

The Nine Club really does suck 😂
