For me it’s crazy like, Daniel Shimizu is somewhere in my top 5 favorite skaters.  His style was kind of a slow burn where I liked it more and more until it clicked in my head how fucking cool he looks on a skateboard.

He’s the only semi-famous person I’ve ever reached out to on instagram; when he retired I told him how much I love his skating and wished him success in whatever he did after skating.  Never replied :(

Still love him though.

He does customer service (or something) for FA. If you email them and get a response from Daniel, that's him.

He came to my town with some of the Stereo dudes about three years ago. My friend and I ran a shop and they called us to show them around. He was very nice and still ripping. I have some clips I never posted because they were working on a video. It was Chris Pastras, Clint Peterson, a few Stereo ams, I know one was Yoshi. Anyway, Daniel had great style. Will miss seeing new footy of him.

That whole line was fucking awesome.  There was some commentary where he talks about being super hung over and skating some random indoor soccer shoes in that clip.

He’s definitely been in my top 5 favorite skaters for as long as I can remember.  His style was just so fucking amazing. His kaiju Heroin deck is actually my one and only deck that I refuse to skate. 

Can’t believe I haven’t seen this thread until now.  Glad to find some other DS fans.
