when will there be an alternate SOTY that matters?
don't forget there was a period that Thrasher put out only Barney footage and TWS was king.
Somehow changed it with Prevent this tragedy but growing up Thrasher SOTY didn't have the same weight it did now.

Sucks he is banned from the USA. He is great though. Gives me hope about the future of skateboarding. He needs to get on different companies though. Listen and DC suck. Get him on Primitive and new balance and then he would be Greatest to ever do the street skate

Where are people getting the idea that a chest high switch back tail and other tricks like that are 90’s throwbacks? I remember Guy switch back tailing a 6 stair rail in the 90’s and everybody losing their shit over it.
Is skating ledges considered a 90’s throwback now? Because nobody was skating them like he does back then, and somebody needs to help me understand when people stopped skating them, making the approach a real “throwback”

It’s tricky... He wears baggy pants and cupsoles and isn’t scrawny, so nobody can handle it and assumes he must be a time traveler from 2001.
I will admit that a lot about him reminds me of those days and watching Flo Marfaing and Alex Carolino rip, but he is most certainly of our current time and pushing the absolute limits of what a person can do on a skateboard.
That being said, the dudes most stoked on him seem to be a bit older, and that’s gotta be because the late 90’s/early 00’s flavor is most certainly present.

the waist high thread the needle switch backside nosegrind over the pole, on the 4 inch wide ledge against the building, to pop out is literally unbelievable. if you took me to that spot and told me someone did that i would not believe you

He lands everything perfect or at the very least stands up on every grind and slide like a man. I voted for him last year for SOTY. I imagine he will have a harder time going against Ishod because of all the content he puts out (and he is in the dlx camp). Either would be great. I get psyched anytime Tiago footy comes out, because it is always fantastic.
