I'd hope Chima puts out that all sydney part he mentioned before and takes it. But, the contenders are him, Austyn, Ishod and Bobby De Keyzer in my eyes.
But, as talked about on the Bunt, lets hope Westgate can pull it off. Got the Element and a NB# part on the way (although it sounds like that will drop in January).

Not that it would happen but Hiroki Muraoka is really having a great year.
Also, I didn't know who Tommy May was before 2017 and he's had a buttload of parts come out since then. 3 that I know of in 2018 (One was shared with Eniz) and that JetLagBrothers clip in Malaga.
Obviously these aren't what Thrasher would pick but I am just saying some names I was stoked on.

It probably isn't. But, he also has a full part in his local skate shop video about to drop (the premiere has happened). If he has one more footage drop in November people will be talking. No idea if that is in the plans though.
Who is the last guy to win it skating mostly low-impact stuff? Ave's part was raw but I don't remember him skating much big stuff, and MJ. You don't think of Ishod and Wes as guys who go big (at least when compared to Kyle Walker and Daveed), but they obviously had some crazy shit in their parts that year.

Has anyone been in the running for Sort for 6 years plus winning one of those years like Ishod has? I feel like he's been on a tear for over half a decade now. Since Day One was his kicking off point and he hasn't slowed down.
I'd even say after his Mother part Gilbert is in the conversation, even if briefly.
Zion and Tyshawn are both decent contenders, but I don't think either will get it.

People didn't used to pump out footage like this. I would say when I was growing up, it felt like Daewon could have won almost any year, and eventually did (for a bit of a surprising year). Koston's run from Basically the 101 promo to Yeah Right also had multiple SOTY level years in it.

ryan lay has been killing it in 2018. real street part. etnies album part. had some stuff in the altamont anecdote edit. also collabed with altamont on a capsule collection - proceeds going to the nonprofit he helps run, skate after school. was one of the few pro skaters to call out 1010 on the nazi bs.
but yeah, in reality, probably someone on a dlx brand.

Any year Ishod is putting out footage he’s a contender. We’re definitely witnessing a legend with him.
Tyshawn’s pop is something special (so is Tiago’s obv). Pressure is kind of on considering everyone is expecting his Supreme part to be crazy. But yea he will probably be in the running. I could watch him skate flatground and over trash cans all day.
Zion has been going HAM as the kids say. Handrail hammers don’t always do it for me but his Hollywood 16 trick deserves something.

It will be surprising if Ishod doesn't put out another part before the end of the year, not sure if he'll get it though. He 100% deserves it but he's also doing the same thing he does every year. Jon Dickson would be really cool.

Honestly, as much as I hate to say it, someone from the Element team is gonna win it. I'd bet money on it.
Winning KOTR + the video + anything else they've done throughout the year leaves us with Nyjah Huston, Tyson Peterson, Mason Silva, and Evan Smith as frontrunners.

all of the best shit is still yet to come. element, foundation and supreme are all putting out videos. i'm sure at least a couple of other parts will drop as well. i'm saying it's going to be evan smith though.. he's obviously already the MVP for this years king of the road. he hasn't really dropped any footage this year after dropping an average of at least 2-3 parts the last few years whichs leads me to believe that he's been saving everything for this part and that it's going to be really fuckin heavy.

now that I thought about it more, I don't know. last year jamie foy and louie lopez went on a tear. both of them consistently killed it all year. and not that certain people haven't killed it with parts and whatnot, but I can't think of anyone (and I could be wrong) that were quite on par with what jamie or louie did last year. idk I might be forgetting some people tho.
