This news sucks. Sidewalk was a world class skate mag. I wish I could've bought it more regularly. (Also, their forum was solid.)

Sidewalk had been belonging to the same entity as Kingpin for quite some time now, right? Ever since both mags went out of print to solely focus on digital content a few years back, their posts (and reposts) often felt like duplicates from each other's, although Sidewalk always clung to UK skate culture a lot better whereas Kingpin covered pretty much every other European country. But they were operating very similarly, so I wonder if that decision is the result of whoever owned both mags (if I remember correctly) choosing to pull the plug on one of them. I also wonder how that will affect the Kingpin staff, hopefully positively, hopefully not negatively. If both mags were never owned by the same company then sorry I'm tripping.

The mag was an institution but even the current guys who were still working for it were doing a great job with the web content. Jono's articles in particular always felt very passionate to me, then again the UK scene is super passionate in general from my experience.
