Right, but I would have to agree with the conjecture that skateboarders as a group seem to have a more concentrated frequency of OCD-lite behavior, as compared to the general public. Granted, Reynolds has it worse than most. but

I thought most skaters have some small form of that shit. I know I do. I'm just glad it only happens when I skate. If I'm skating something bigger, I always ride up to it and look at it again between trys. And I always have to start in the same place. If I go around a pilar or even a pebble or something I have to keep going around it. A few weeks ago I had to re-tie my shoe after every try.

Jake Phelps is one of the biggest kooks in skating! He'll talk a lot of shit about you but when he sees you he's a bitch! Pretty funny a man that's about 6'2 gets beat down by a guy that's 5'2.

when i skate stairs, there are certain steps i wont walk up it i wont step on the bottom stair then i step on the second stair then after that its evry other one. if i touch one of the other stairs ill walk back down and do it again. then for anything the way i start off is always the way i have to start every try, like if i kick the board and then run, or if i put the board down or just stand on it and start pushing. thats really the only thing.

I agree. I don't think you can have that much control over ocd, but you never know, he did mention locking the door and then locking it again. That sounds right. What he was doing at wallenburg looked like something to just to take his mind off what he was doing. Overall, that was a pretty good idea to show that in a interview. Dude's doing one of sickest things on a skateboard and he's letting kids in on his rituals to do em.

I'm not an expert on this but I'd say he has some degree of OCD. The door locking thing goes pretty far. Like doing it all over again if you do it wrong? That's pretty out there. It just about one motion checking if it's locked or not.
I think everyone has these where you check if the stove is on when you know it's not before you leave the house or double check the front door. That's not OCD but Andrew's case is.
Anyway, another sick episode.

That was a cool episode. I have the same thing with the number 3. I don't really do it that much when I skate but I do it at home or when I go out. When I skate I have to make all my wheels stop rolling and touch both of my trucks. I think little rituals like that help me with skating.

cool episode. although like someone else mentioned, i'm pretty sure reynolds just has some mild superstition issues, not full-blown OCD which like he said, can totally fuck up people's lives. its pretty interesting to see what other skaters do such as tapping three times. when i was younger i was extremely superstitous and did such stupid silly things, but i'm lucky i got over that now.
