my babysitter got me into it when I was 5.. my parents would leave and he would have all his buddies over and we would skate in the driveway and i basically grew up with them. They would have girls over and shit, it was fuckign awesome.

I used to ride BMX but I always thought skateboards were cooler...........and I thought my cousin was pretty cool for doing it

I was into fingerboarding and then when I saw that they made big fingerboards that I could stand on I just about crapped my Cross Colors.

Moved to another country and the first person in school who talked to me and became my friend was a skater. I went to the local spot with him a couple of times and got hooked almost instantly.

my homie down the street was into it so i picked it up and got hooked. bought my first board from PD's hotshop, that was 94

I can't be sure. I know I did it in elementary school but don't consider pre-ollie times. It wasn't until 7th or 8th grade when I learned to ollie that I would consider myself a skater. By then I was already 'skating' so I can't remember.

i used to bmx but i too small and was getting beat up from it.i thought skateboarding was cool because i didnt have to throw around a heavy ass bike. and ollies are cool as fuck. never stopped

Seeing an older dude in my hood pushing down the street.  He had all the cool gear (nts airwalk, blind jeans) and floppy tony hawk hair that fell into his face.  Tons of serious tude man.  Even taught me that style develops AFTER you learn the tricks.  I guess I was trying too hard.....
