Post your skate falls/injury/slam tales here, especially if they're funny or interesting(like if sacking on a handrail in front of the girl you like in high school). This isn't SCARRED for fucks sake.
I chipped my front two teeth two days ago doing a regular kick flip back tail that I had no chance of landing anyway, I shot out and my face slammed against the concrete.
Projected dental cost: 1,595.00$
It doesn't even hurt and I actually like the way it looks, but I guess i'll have them fixed.
Kinda insane when you think about it, sixteen hundred for faking the funk.

I've been thinking about tatooing "Love Hurts" together with a board or something, mostly cause i'm wack, but also because it's true...
I'll probably never do it because I think it's kinda corny and would be over it after a day or two

I credit carded this summer trying to kickflip a backpack. My sack was bruised for weeks.
A few summers ago I was pushing around on a wharf with a beer bottle, hit a pebble, and fell down resulting in 7 stitches to my palm. My friends drove me to the doctor, my mom met us there and gave my buddy 20 bucks for giving me a lift. We then went to the dealer and bought 20 bucks worth of grass. Then we went to a party and I got really fucked up on booze, weed, and chemicals. A night to remember for sure. Although I don't remember most of it.

I've posted this on here before, but I have a big X shaped scar near my right eyebrow due to a skin infection/disease I got from wearing a rented helmet.

when i was learning how to skate, my board popped up and knocked my two top front teeth out.
the first time i had ever skated a legit pool, i ended up falling from the top of the wall straight to flat. my wrist was broken for eight months
after skating our former local indoor park for a few hours one day, i tripped running and jumping onto my board. i popped my finger out of place like justing eldridge in yeah right
i was bombing a hill at a commuter rail station just as people were getting off the train and i got hit by a car. i went flying and slid pretty far. i got up laughing and everyone that had just got off the train were looking at me all shocked that i was able to even get up
i thought that i could pop up a curb and manual this grass gap up to a ledge. i got pitched forwards and hit my head right behind my ear. because i had a concussion i wasn't supossed to skate for a couple of weeks, but a week later i tried to skate this bench at mcdonalds and stuck instantly. i flew head first into a different ledge and got hit in the same exact spot on the other side of my head, yet again getting another concussion

i once broke my ankle stepping off my board. landed trick coming out fakie, step of my board and right into some fuckin hole..........SNAP!

During my sophomore year, a week before pictures were taken for the yearbook, I pushed my board out in front of me and went to step on it, but tripped, shooting it straight into face. It took a huge chuck of skin off my forehead

i once tried to use being nice to a kooky kid as an opener to get at his super hot milf. the kid had been fakieing back and forth on the mini, so i thought, "i'll teach the kid to drop in, mom will be stoked at the nice dude that was helping her kid, and i'll be golden.."
roll up to junior, introduce myself, ask if he wants to learn to drop in, he says ok, so i climb up on deck and show him a couple times, stressing the whole "lean forward" thing, over-exaggerating just how much to lean forward, so he hopefully doesn't do the typical drop-in-stand-right-up-and-zing-out thing that pretty much everyone does the first time the try to drop in on something. after showing him a few times, telling him, "remember lean wayyy forward..." i overdid my body too much and went right over the front dropping, piling hard on the flat.
needless to say, i didn't fuck the milf.

one night me lee yankou swell and other homies went out bombing hills in white rock all night, 4 of us were getting towed up the hill my friend in front of me was holding on to the front window was trying to manual up the whole hill and got speed wobble hit the curb going 30, i was behind him, the car ran over his foot over, my board ran into his head, i forgot to let go of the car window cause it all happened to fast and i got dragged by the car for a good 5 feet let go and flew another 5-7 feet,
i broke my nose skating a 4 stair when i was like 10 years old i kickedflipped, didnt commit landed with my foot on the tail board came up and got the truck in the nose.
the first day i learned how to drop in i was so hyped that i went back at night and it was pitch black
i go to drop in, hit a rock, smash my chin got a couple stitches.
about 2 years ago i was trying to ollie from the top of a bank to the bottom but it was really skinny, i ollied landed in a 50-50, smashed my chin in the same spot, but didnt go to the hospital

Chipped a tooth falling on a f/s 5-0 on tranny.
Broke right collarbone ollieing a 5 stair, then crashing into a big USPS box.

Sprained my knee really really bad when I was 21 (3 years ag0) trying to re-do a kf down an fairly rugged 8 set (lame).I had put my hand down on the first land Sprained my MCL then twisted my knee several times over the next year or so. Now I just have a shitty knee, that can't be operated on. I basically can still skate, but no real stairs or gaps for me, tranny ledges, skateparks and flatground for me. I felt dumb cause I was skaitng with younger kids that were going for it, and I thought I would too. Its on my mind everytime I skate, cause I wear a brace just to go skate anything

learning kickflips, back foot lands on tail board flys up and hits me about an inch from my eye. 4 stitches.

Torn ligaments in my flicking ankle, nose manual shove out, did the old Danny Way Questionable bail, front foot landed in front of the board, board hits it, instant swell.
3 weeks ago and I've still got two more weeks till i can skate.

couple days ago i tried to frontboard a flatbar id been sliding perfectly all night, stopped dead at the end, put my hand behind me to break my fall and broke my fucking wrist instead. went to the doctors the yesterday and got hooked up with a ticket to surgery and an awesome splint that comes off for the surgery then they put the real cast on.

I just had all that exact same shit done about 4 months ago.
They took a small fragment of my hip bone out and put it into my wrist, leaving me 2 gnarley scars, one for my hip and one for my wrist.
The first few days are nothing but intense pain. My wrist and hand has not felt the same since. Be prepared for about 3 months or more in a cast, its one of the worst breaks to heal. The actual 100% healing time is over 9 months.

i got another one:
i was 13-14 on a family trip in the northwest, we were in portland, my mom dad and brother dropped me off at burnside while they went to explore the city. I hadn't skated much tranny then, and within about 45 minutes i was at the bottom of the small bowl with a broken wrist.
and i cried. hard.
i think the deaf black skater guy that shreds that place was there that day too, at least he didn't hear my screams
someones mom called 911, apparently the ambulance place for portland is right across the street, they pulled over and boy were my parents in for a surprise when they showed up
anyone else find it funny that the worst pains you get skating are the boards to the shins?
i'd easily take a broken bone over a tail batted into my shin. which seems to happen every other time i skate nearly

i was ollieing over a chain, off a loading dock. i'd already done it a couple of times when on one attempt my friend's board shot out, hit the chain, whipping it up over both my feet. i fell about 6ft directly onto my temple. got a severe concussion and memory loss. i was so jacked, i looked like the fucking elephant man, and the month or so before was gone, which was funny cause i had mad girl drama happening at the time and couldn't remember which girl was my girlfriend...

my friend got knifed in the sack by his board trying to ollie a 3 set years back. went back a few days later when he could walk again, did it again way worse and was bleeding through his pants. never skated again

I've a couple of funny ones;
I was injured by a small plastic bottle of orange juice once and still have a scar running from a corner of my mouth; we'd all gone to do a demo at this coastal town, all was hooked up for us including hotels. Great night of free drinks, but of course the hotel fell through. The driver had pulled a girl so there were about 6 of us having to find places to sleep. I have a sleeping bag, so I find these bushes and sleep inside them (oh, and when I woke saw graffiti everywhere basically saying it was a gay rapists alley "anyone coming here will be buggered" etc was daubed all over the place- so it could have been much much worse).
At about 4 am I get woken in the dawn by a fierce rainstorm, so stagger off to find shelter. I had no money, no food, but fortunately a small plastic bottle of orange juice which I'd tucked away in the sleeping bag with me, so I go to open that. Now it seems orange juice ferments when in a hot sleeping bag, and as soon as I open the bottle the cap shoots into my face at 100 mph, leaving the aforementioned permanent scar. Loved that morning, loved it!
I've got a pretty nasty curved scar above my right eye too. I was living near Marseilles at the time, and went to a party where I got absolutely steamed. At about 4am (again) I set off for home, down all these flights of stairs which went on forever besides these tall buildings. I had my board with me, so after a while decide to go down the wheelchair ramps. These led on to a narrow downhill path which was in absolute pitch darkness, and I remember distinctly standing on my board completely shitfaced thinking "I'm getting pretty bad speed wobbles and can't see anyhting, I should put a foot down or something sometime soon" when I hit the chain which had been put across the path at the end at mid-shin height. Of course I pitched miles onto my head and knocked myself out. Came to in a pool of blood; I wore glasses at the time, and had basically dirven one of the lenses into my skull; I remember just looking dumbly at the blood jsut pouring out of my face. Had to walk a couple of miles to mine with a sacrificed t-shirt round my head and my face a mask of blood, when I looked in the mirror I could properly see my skull. The hospital was another 5 miles away and I had no money, so would have had to walk it and was in no state to, so I slept in my tourniquet and went in the morning...
As for skate injuries when actually skating, well I've had quite a few as well but the stories aren't as funny! :)

I broke my tibia badly a year and a half ago. 4 months in a cast + 2 months of physio. A year later I had my tricks back.

i "slam" all the time, but my worst injury is from snowboarding forl the first time.... my older bro (whos kinda unstable, whatever) was rippin.... i dont know, i tried to hit a jump, first time around, ate shit, snapped my collar bone... out for the winter. (which i dont mind too much considering i live in jersey) but yean...
the worst injury from me skating was probably a rolled ankle.... trying a ridiculous stalefish offf some shitty kiciker...

back when I wanted to be Marcus McBride, I was trying to do tricks over a manual pad. when I landed my tail skidded in gravel and I slipped and I sat on my right hand and slid on my butt and pretty much ripped my fingernails off of my middle and ring fingers.
I broke the big toe on my left foot trying a switch 5-0 on an over waxed ledge. I slipped out and some how kicked the ledge and I nearly shit my pants :'(

I knocked myself out trying to noseslide the smaller Le Dome hubba in Paris. I had a bad heel bruise from trying to ollie the 5 block at Bercy a week before so everytime I ran out of a trick I would have to put most of my weight on the other foot. So I'm trying to noseslide the thing and you have to pop out past three stairs at the bottom and I kept landing on the last stair. So I was getting close and comfortable just getting up on the hubba and sliding and kicking it out at the bottom if i didn't have enough speed to pop out past the stairs. On my last attempt I slid it and didn't have enough speed, kicked the board out and expected to just run out of it, but I landed with all my weight on my good foot, which happened to land right on my board again. It shot out and I went horizontal landing with my head on the bottom stair. My buddy was filming it and he freaked out and stopped recording as soon as my body went limp because he thought I died... In the footage it looks pretty bad because it looks like my head hits the edge of the stair really fast and hard.
I slowly came to about a minute later. I remember my vision being foggy and having bad balance and one of the older French locals made some kid grab me some water. I kept saying I was ok and then I tried to walk back up the stairs and I almost fell over. I felt kind of weird for about an hour and then I was good to go. I'm pretty sure I even went out that night too because we were leaving the next day for home...

-50-50 around the corner on a 6 foot cement bowl, slipped and caught my toe on the way down falling straight to flat. sprained wrist, worst hipper ever, smacked my dome, and did nothing about the 3.
-learning rock to fakies on a 4 foot mini ramp, wooshed out and my front 2 teeth basically went through my lip
-hit my head atleast 7 times, 4 of those times was at the first place i mentioned..........sayreville skatepark in NJ
-gigantic scar on my elbow from trying to ollie a pyrmid, accidently turning in the air, and getting pitched to the ground skidding about 2 feet on my elbow
there are a bunch more but i don't feel like typing them

"knock on wood" I never had any serious injuries just same stuff as everybody else.......endless shinners tons of sore muscles.......maybe I need to try harder when i skate?

i was trying to 50-50 this bike rack and fell off at the very end of it and the end of the bike rack gouged my left shin , now i have a circle scar on my left shin
i was trying to frontside smith grind the box on top of the pyramid at our old indoor park , stuck , flew forward and gouged my right shin on the end of the sharp angle iron
i ran into the out door very drunk at the bar and broke some cartilage in my nose
i broke my arm skating and two weeks later i got stabbed in the hand , had a cast on my arm and one on my finger , got the nickname war amp for a little while
a few months back i got my jumped at the bar by my ex girlfriends scary ass boyfriend , choked the fuck out of me while i was pinned down , punched me in the ribs , just beat the shit out of me , i guess someone seen it and told me after he was done he got up and kicked me in the ribs while i was still down , two days later i was walking home in my hometown after a wedding and got jumped by 10 indian kids and bottled running at full speed twice , had to go to the hospital at 6 in the morning and got this weird glue on the scar
i fractured my ankle in 4 places ollieing a back alley street gap , back to a canadian winter , 2 months in a cast two months in rehab
i got fucked up at a bush party and got my teeth fucked up and my top lip all busted up , before i could get this root canal in 6 weeks , i had to go around with this sediment attaching my almost falling out tooth to the other one , looked like i had one big tooth for 6 weeks , grade 10 wasn't fun for a little while
rolled my ankles more times then i can count
caught my bottom lip on the coil of a trampoline , that wasn't fun either
shin splints also suck

During the summer months I run a skatecamp at out local dinky skatepark. Last summer, I got really into launching off this six foot ski jump ramp kind of thing and doing dork tricks for the kids like air walks and finger flips.
First trick of camp one day a kid demands that I do air walk so I oblige in trying one. I dropped in on the Eleven foot vert quarter pipe that is before the jump and had my weight kind of leaning too far back from the get go. I end up making it down the quarter pipe and get to the launch ramp and for some reason decide to commit to the trick regardless of the fact I knew I was fucked. As soon as I hit the ramp lip I just flew straight in the air and my body went completely horizontal about ten feet in the air I’m told. I came down from the launch on my back with my arm tucked underneath my side. I ended up breaking my forearm completely through and dislocation my elbow so my arm basically formed a V and was close to sticking out of the skin. While this sucked, the worst part is that I still had a group of kids around that I was yelling at and basically traumatizing for life with my intense ramblings and broken limbs. I had to call an ambulance for myself because for some reason eleven year olds are confused by the phrase, “DIAL 911”.
Best of all I had just turned eighteen so I could no longer receive immediate attention in the childrens section of the ER. I had to wait for five hours almost to get my elbow popped back in place and then get painkillers.
I ended up surgically getting a rod place through my bone for good, but the part that made it horrible is that I had to get on a flight to San Francisco to start College the day after surgery. I ended up flying that day super high on drugs and puking on everyone and everywhere possible. I was told not to skate for 3 months to let my arm heal. Needless to say I didn’t listen to the doctors and here is a picture of me a week later after I broke my arm skating three up three down

i've been pretty lucky so far. I slam a lot but my worst injuries so far has only been a split chin, a broken arm and many rolled ankles

Fuck,I've had so many injuries over the years but 3 stick out in my mind as the WORST....
1.Picture this..the year was 1990...a quarterpipe set-up next to a washer and dryer in a garage ala Matt Hensley in Hokus Pokus....shitty plywood......backside one-foot to tail and try to revert in.....wheels went through the wood sending me sailing over a wheelbarrow and when I put my arms out to catch myself I landed wrong and SNAP!!...completely shattered my elbow to the point the onle thing holding it together was the skin and tendons...I freaked out,ran outside the garage with my arm flopping back and forth like a dead fish....I then proceeded to pass out and ended up watching Propaganda until parent's showed up.....that sucked....4 pins and 2 plates later it's still really crooked...but whatever...it works.
2.Fast forward to the year 2001.....after skating for many years and finally getting some free product I decide to film a line that would have been some shit to throw in the credit section of a local shop video....first trick was a switch ollie over a fucking log....big deal right?....it wasn't until I landed on one and my foot slipped off causing me to do the splits and shit.....my ankle then twisted and as that was happening my leg also twisted tearing my ACL along with fucking up my ankle.....that was THE WORST...nothing had been the same since...and I'm still pretty bummed that happened....I still like to cruise around and stuff but as far as doing things I would like and in some cases used to do very well it just kinda spoils it for me.....but I still try to have fun......and I guess that all that matters.
3.The last one that really comes to mind is when I broke 3 of my front teeth out after coming coming down a wedge ramp in 1988...I used to have that wedge painted up pretty good...you know,with the old Powell/Peralta Ratbones logo and some token Black Flag tags on it....it was pretty slick....anyways.....I got a 2X4 that kinda stuck from bottom and landed face first on sidewalk before I even knew what happened.....I could tell my teeth were fucked up and make things worse....my Dad had bought Taco Bell for dinner right before it happened....so imagine trying to eat some crunchy tacos with hot sauce that were condensed down to a soupy mess in the blender....awesome times,I tell ya......awesome times indeed.
