Title: Ali Boulala, 2 to 4.
Post by: TheFrontSeatLife on May 02, 2008, 07:36:07 PM
Read on the Orchard shop site that the Australian Court is going to give Ali 2 to 4.

Curious, considering reading that Shane's parents were supposedly not pressing charges.

Yeah someone on here pointed it out when this first happened that they had recently change the law there and it doesn't matter if the family drops the charges.
In esswnce its still invoulntary manslaughter and most countries charge people with that regardless if charges were pressed by the persons family.

That's fucked - i understand why sadly though.

It's a shame for Ali, kill your mate by accident, fuck yourself up by accident, then get prison time because of it all - harsh as fuck

Really is. He's got to deal with the fact that he killed one of his best friends for the rest of his life and now he's got to do time for it too. At least it's a relatively short sentence. I do understand why the Oz government is doing it though. It's still sad.

I hope he cuts his hair and throws away those tight jeans before he goes to jail. Might be mistaken for a girl in there.

um, killing somebody is still a crime, regardless of whether the victim's family has forgiven you

It's not like this was the first stupid thing Ali had ever done. He'd based his image on being a drunk, dangerous "I don't give a shit" fuckwit for years. And when the accident happened, I more or less felt it was just a case of his luck having run out. And I blamed him for the whole situation. Especially, seeing as he'd spent years selling that stupid behavior to impressionable kids.

But now, in hindsight, I feel really bad for the guy. It's not like this was a deliberate act of malice. It was an accident, and one that has already ruined his career and resulted in the death of a friend. Throwing him in jail for several years strikes me as a completely unnecessary twist of the knife.

I just don't see what good can really come from it.
