VF corp. will be buying DC, and possibly Quiksilver as well.

I'm probably a lot more concerned about it than you are.  Not that I really give a shit about DC or Quiksilver, but each of those three companies support a large number of skaters, and to me represent a sizable portion of the industry.  But hey, maybe VF would choose to let go of Nautica in tough times over one those 'action sports' stalwarts

I'm alright with $20 half cabs.

sweets, dude. $20 Half-Cabs are like the best deal I could ever get. If they like had a stock of the Cardiel ones that are like a year old and gave to Marshalls... that would be great.

Yeah but 20 dollar half cabs at chain stores would also undermine real skateshops.

That's true. I'm am so glad I don't know where the nearest Marshall's is. My skateshop has certain SB's on sale for $30, a lot of the time. And, they have Vox's for like $15-$25, on sale. And, decks are usually on $45-$50. So, my skate shop wouldn't go out of business. Plus, I stopped skating Van's because once I do, it's so fucking hard for me to use any other brand.

The economy is pretty shitty so I wouldn't be surprised if you saw DC at department stores. Wait, that already happened. I was at Macy's getting a suit and dress shoes. And, I saw like five different models of DC's and some T-Shirts with the obnoxiously, huge logos. And, I heard you can get Old Skool's at Kohls (SP?).

Kind of random but, I kind of dig the J-Lays but am trying to go with some Vegan shoes, instead. I'll probably end up getting Transist's or some Drehobl Slip-On's.

Even though, they'll be pretty much sold everywhere since they're owned by the same company as DC, does anyone think that there will still be core line? I would think that at least one of the people that skates for Vans would be pissed to learn that his shoe is sold everywhere. Damn, I'm digging the Dollin No Skool, also.

VF isn't buying DC, VF gave out some pink slips and cut costs just recently.  Quiksilver is hurting, they booted some executives.  DC is the only product making profit at Quiksilver.  I can see DC getting sold sometime in the near future.  Time will tell.

Would make sense, but at the conference call (u have to do it if u r at the stock exchange) in december they left this special topic out. If you don't know what went down in the call, check this link for ALL details  :P
