Title: The Gonz music video
Post by: jacquesknife on July 10, 2009, 06:47:27 AM
Not sure if this has done the rounds already but have people seen this Coconut Records video directed by Mark Gonzales?

http://tinyurl.com/lahx2v

I think he should stick to skating, not mash up some shitty super 8 looking clips of people fucking around and call it art.

i hate the "should stick to skating" comments. who gives a fuck. gonz can, and always has done whatever he has wanted to do. he also already has a budding art career, so its not like hes just "trying out" this "art stuff". and nobody is even calling this art, its a goddamn music video.

From the results, it seems that he's just not very good at directing videos. Sticking to skating would let someone with a bit more talent have a go

I mean, the video isnt one of the better ones ive seen in my life, but who cares? Its his life and he can do whatever other things he should want to do and have fun with it. Even if its off the board. At least he's not trying to build a rap career

why do people act like skateboarders are only allowed to skateboard, and if they have any other interests theyre either "faggots" and/or "hipsters"

i agree, take a look at some one like say....josh kasper, heard he used to rollerblade, you dont see anyone calling him a faggot.
also andy macdonald, hobbies include giant pogo sticks. i rest my case, no faggots here.

Coconut Records AKA actor and musician Jason Schwartzman has called upon the creative talents of crazy skate genius Mark Gonzales and photographer/filmmaker William Strobeck to make this quirky lo-fi video

I like when Gonz was canoeing on his skateboard. And seeing Chloe never hurts, so easy on the eyes and hard on the dick.

nah, a jock is a jock, because those sports that clarify you as a jock live on competition. Skating isn't part of that, unless you're a comp prick or some youtube montage queer

strobeck directed it with input from and featuring mark gonzales. chloe is a good friend of marks. the only time i've ever met her was with him and his wife. she's so fucking awesome and weird and quiet. i thought the video made me feel really carefree and kinda made me miss when i had time to go downtown and dork around with a couple friends and laugh about nothing. if you don't get it, maybe you won't. who cares, it's not a skate vid, it's a music video for a fucking band (that rocks by the way). anyone that got negativity out of this clip is a kook who doesn't like feeling free. and that must really suck for you. live up or shut up.
