Title: Jaws vs Bruno
Post by: zipzinger666 on July 10, 2009, 08:31:00 PM
I think Jaws is the raddest dude ever, but i think its crazy how much he looks like Sasha Baron Cohen as Bruno. No disrespect to Jaws, just thought id post it.

just got back and it was the easily the funniest movie I've seen this year. There are some really gay parts in it though, I don't want to spoil the best parts but it's definitely worth the price of a ticket. Sadly it wasnt as good as Borat

seen the hangover?

the hangover and bruno were both equally hillarious. The Hangover was consistently funny from start to finish, but Bruno had some scenes where I laughed harder than i have in awhile. Best part was I saw it with my mom.

Bruno was a little above par at best. the story line was mapped out just like borat; so it made for less creativity causing the end to just carry on for a while. the funny parts were funny and often. 3.5/5 stars for crude/racial humor and references to pygmy.

You have probably already seen The Hangover. the concept basic, four dudes go to vegas for a bachelor party and lose their homie. maybe im just being a little biased but i thought that zach galifinakis' performance was stand out; as a fan of his you could easily notice where he ad-libbed his own material. hijinx ensues and shit gets crazy. 3/5 stars for zach gasfifanasfy.

I loved Brüno, but I definitely liked the Hangover more.

if the hangover revolved just a little bit more around Zach's insanity, it would have inched out Bruno as funniest movie of 09' for me.

=spoiler=
was anyone else for some reason psyched on being meat-spun 5 minutes in?

I think my thing was that I knew what to expect with Bruno (Borat with a gay dude) but going into the Hangover, I was expecting some shitty American Pie movie.

if the cage match scene is real, that would make my year!

On June 6, 2008, a riot ensued at a stunt orchestrated by Baron Cohen and the producers of the film as they staged a "Blue Collar Brawlin'" in Fort Smith, Arkansas. Patrons were lured to an event billed as cage fighting, held at a convention centre, by print and Craigslist advertisements, promoting "hot girls", $1 beer, and $5 admission. Approximately 1500 people attended the event and were greeted by signs that informed them that they were being filmed. No mobile phones, video, or cameras were allowed inside. Instead of hot girls and cage fighting, the acts taking place became homosexual in nature and people threw chairs and beer at the performers. The performers were Brüno (Baron Cohen) under the ironic gimmick, "Straight Dave" and Gustaf Hammarsten portraying his opponent.[5][6]

Sascha Baron Cohen is a giant sack of shit who shouldn't be allowed to produce films. His characters are predictable and the majority of those situations are staged. Dumbass comedy that appeals the lowest common denominator.

i know it was played in the theaters in the country where i live (usa) and that's pretty much what our country is completely full of. So it looks like that sack of shit has got one hell of a marketing team. Touche mr. cohen, touche.

You guys live in a country where Larry the Cable Guy can actually earn a living. Get over it. You're not Roger and Ebert.

I just saw the Hangover last night. I thought it was pretty damn funny, but the appearance by Mike V left a bad taste in my mouth.

you have to be a moron to think baron cohen is trying to appeal to the lowest common denominator when the whole point of his movies are to make fun fun of "the lowest common denominator" and expose to the world how fucked these people's mentality's are.  If you can't see that his movies are social commentary than you're blind
