great layout, love every photo and sequence. kevin coakley's style is fantastic, sabback is fucking proper and exciting to watch, and I'd love it if someone could somehow make bro's sequence into an avatar for me!

some waterfront spots would've been cool or the hospital banks =)

i think ya should head out to western MA and get Ahlee and his homies to take ya around before the snow is knee deep for 6 months, or hit New Bedford with the solstice bros.....

I've always appreciated the "AQ After 5" shirts because I know that above all other times to not go there, After 5 is the time to really avoid it because of the asshole wiggers whom generally tend to inhabit it.  Also the spot just sucks and I avoid it like the plague in general. Fork is way right on this one.

i dont know why everyone expects everyone be friendly to others, as its a requirement.
we are from the northeast.
and sometimes people are just quiet.
and i never had a problem going to aqaurium, been skating there since 2001 and haven't had any problems.

I don't know why everyone posts about Boston skaters being rude or whatever.  When some friends and I went on a skate trip to Boston last summer, locals were all friendly, gave us directions to spots/information, and often went out of their way to show us places to skate.  Even the Boston residents who didn't skate seemed friendly, some of the most relaxed security at spots; we never got kicked out without the guard telling us what time we could go back and skate, without us even asking.  FUCK YEAH BOSTON!

i think you pretty much summed it up for yourself. if you live in boston and never skated the AQ your opinion pretty much isnt worth shit. iv been skating there for over a decade and no new wave of high school kids is gonna make my feel unwelcome. iv slept there, hooked up with chicks, drank, done homework, ate, pissed, shit, made best friends, seen friends propose to wifes, and skated countless days and nights. once all these kids are gone AQ will still be there. and fuck that after 5 bull shit. bring the blond lady with the dog an iced coffee and its aq whenever i want.

Bump.

I'm going to Boston for the weekend. Leaving in two hours.

Anyone have any good tips for spots/watering holes/treats?

I know my way around pretty well, but haven't skated downtown in a few years.

Is the aquarium where kids in raver pants go to skate flatground?

Copley?

I remember Underground Snowboards, but that shit's been dead for years, huh?

If it's too cold I'll just drink a coupla Ha'poons, guy.

so yeh - boston has basically zero decent parks - go to hyde park if you are ever there - holy shit that place is depressing. i saw some good street stuff but was too busy getting drunk. orchard has a nice mini ramp.. yup.

that being said - boston is a really cool town - plan on going back soon

Not sure if you already went/I haven't lived in boston for a few years, but spots to check out:

Aquarium (long wharf pier close to the aquarium). Ground sucks but its an OG spot.
Ruggles Courts near Ruggles T stop
China Courts where Orchard has a bunch of ramps/boxes
Acorns (Riverside Press Park)
Jackson Mann School in Allston
Tootsie Roll ledge (State St and Village St in Cambridge)
Lynch Skatepark
Skating around the greenway by aquarium is fun
Lincoln Skatepark and Morse Kelley Playground in Somerville
There's a few other new parks around too -  fancy lad park in Jamaica Plain, they redid the Hyde Park skatepark, and there's another new one in Allston I'm sure you can find by googling
Wonderland T stop in Revere is fun
Northeastern University has a bump to bar and a bunch of stairs at the library
Thomas Edison school has a fun manny pad/ledges
Copley is gone now, but you can skate around there and find ledges. There's also a yellow up barrier/ledge near the highway entrance on the backside of the library.
Windows (if unknobbed - pearl and franklin st)

There are some good ones outside of the city, but they are well-guarded and well-kept secrets. That said, the Prudential Garage (e.g. at Prudential Mall / Copley Sq.) is well known. But, you could be there for 60 seconds before a bust, or quite awhile. Roll of the dice.
