I live in Vancouver, so I get the feeling that there's going to be all sorts of free shit for me to take advantage of.
I'm pretty stoked for those dudes that shoot a gun on skis.

If I had to rank countries by manhood, I would say bear hunting, penis size and ice fishing as fair competition.

How it was declared "two men on sled" the decision of manhood blows my mind.

Although, the whole "ski, shoot, ski, shoot, skeet" thing is amazing.

Fuck the olympics. This place is going to be a shitshow for the next few weeks. Not to mention the enormous defecit that we're going to be left paying off for the next 30 years.

I've seen enough billboards of spandex clad winter athletes  wooshing through the golden arches to last a lifetime already, and the shit hasn't even started yet.

Okay, I'm placing bets now. This Canadian BAMF is named Patrick Chan, and is going to fucking OWN Men's Singles this year.

Look at him in his blades of glory...

for anyone who doesnt live in vancouver,

its an elnino year this year, which means its been warm as shit and its going to stay that way all winter. the snowboard halfpipe/freestyle ski events are supposed to take place at this mountain right in the city but its just been raining every day up there. generally this time of year the whole mountain is covered in about 200+ cm of snow (sometimes double that), as of today it looks like this

at the very best, people will be going up with their $300 tickets in the pissing rain wearing our patented cypress garbage bags to watch snowboarders ride down a halfpipe made of hay bales.

should be funny.

I know that here in Australia the Australian Institute of Sport, which is run by the government and trains all the elite athletes, moves people that are good but not quite good enough in their own sport (like sprinting or thereabouts) into the sports no one does like bobsled etc just so that they have people to compete in those events.

Yeah, I read a story where a country handpicked a guy with the biggest balls to do the head first luge for their team and trained him. Basically, that was the story, but we were also making stories up during the conversation. We were talking about people stranded on islands, so I told him about this true story where these people crashed on an island. They had to punch in this random number ever hour or else the place would explode. Eventually they kept shifting back in time and shit. Fucked up shit.

Anyway, Albatross, I'm kinda bummed it's not snowy there, but happy for the irony. Are they going to use fake snow, or just ride on leaves like they did luge in Greece in the 1600's?

The snow sitch will be fine. There is literally a ton of snow higher up in elevation that can be moved for the events. I'll do it, I'll fuckin' do it right now!

In any olympics I always back the Chinese hard......and say things to people like...'If you don't like Chinese people...you're fucked!'

Yeah..there isn't a ton of snow but you don't need that much snow to run one of those events anyhow....

I'm sure I'll be annoyed by it but for the most part I'm glad Vancouver did it...

Wow that first picture you posted is amazing. It's been looking pretty thin up there for the past few weeks but I didn't know the situation was that dire. Even if they manage to wrangle enough snow to build their halfpipes conditions are still going to suck up there.
