Art Bars, amazing. I've always had a love for this video for many reasons. Ethan Fowler and Kris Markovich had amazing parts, not to mention a young Strubing and Salazar. When the video came out I thought it was the best video I had ever seen. Skate videos at the time seemed hard for me to relate to, there were a lot of parts with trick after trick handrail bangers and big gaps. Art Bars was different, the skating was more creative and fluid, there were unique tricks like fs hurricanes and no complies, at least they seemed pretty exotic to me at the time. And Markovitch just had the perfect part to end the video.

100% agree that this should be an all around art bars apreesh. This video has just always stood out to me, it wasn't the first foundation video I saw but it was the first and the last foundation video that just felt special to me. I know that sounds kinda lame but the just the diversity of the team but how well it flowed is awesome. All the super 8 and cool colors and scary dolls and Lego men made it pretty original. The soundtrack is fucking awesome too! My favorite part in this video is Shimizu's and it may be his best part. Strubings part really stands out to me as well and remains my favorite strubing part. Jon wests part is really rad too and just the fact that you can see what a big role he played in helping edit the video is just rad. I guess Josh beagle did all of the other foundation videos but Jon helped with this one and you really see a huge difference. Everyone had sick parts and this video remains one of my favorite videos of all time. I put it up there with genesis, mouse, welcome to he'll etc. Awesome to see so many people so psyched on it!

This is an awesome video. I used to watch this shit everyday before skating when it came out. Fowler's crooked on that huge ledge where he lands in the stairs is insane. I think someone here had it as an avatar. I am popping this video in right now.

Damn, so good. Kris has never had a bad part. Every part has style and of course speed. I'd like to see him
round up his career on Black Label Legends Division. He would be a perfect fit on the rebooted Arcade also.

There was a pretty recent Lowcard interview with him, he had some good photos in it too. He seems to be pretty psyched with Given skateboards. It does kind of seen like he's had some bad luck with sponsors, and I think he had trouble coming back from his knee injury.

this video photosynthesis, and welcome to hell were my favorite videos when i first started skating. jon west's part was insane (wheelbite grind, what did he do on that crazy red rail? wasn't it a fs feeble, fs smith and smith no comply or something?). for some reason i always liked that there was a lot of skating during the fall in it too. did anyone ever skip past all the credits and watch the really short horror movie at the end? it wasn't great but i thought it was cool idea.

I don't think I actually realized what a short period of time Markovich was on foundation for, he was on element when Art bars stated filming and had started Hollywood before it was even wrapped up?
I remember him talking about his sponsor jumps a little in an interview a few years ago, Thrasher I think? I never got the impression he was to much of a dick to anyone, just restless I guess mixed up with a bit of bad luck.

i used to know him before he got sponsored and moved to cali, and he was really amazing during that time, but i can't say his part has aged well. i hung out with him when he first got on foundation and it seemed like he hated skateboarding. haven't really talked to him since.

Kris is fucking awesome. I hope for the best with him and Given, it's not huge, (yet?) but the team is amazing. Also, did he hit his face on the ledge at like 2:30? I never noticed that before.

i remember in a slap article last year markovich was getting shoes from fallen........he'd be a good fit for the team and should be bumped up to pro shoe status, again! markovich/thomas legend combo is a heavy package of skateboarding destruction.
i hope "given" really takes off, i wanna see another full part.

omar actually had his shittiest part in that video (it looks like he got hurt during it) him and judd share a part (is that the same judd that posts on here?) they have a real cool song. yeah you are right that whole video is good except roy he just had soem really dumb stuff in there some of the shit was actually real intense like the kickflip bs lip but that rail got completely murdered like the next year by scott kane it kind of made that kickflip bs lip wash away in my memory... onlyy reason i remember it is cause i liked how they edited the slam into it.

he had basically a full part on nervous breakdown... he had the first part i remember and he was a super little kid. the time frame between those videos is at least 3 or 4 years too so it probably happened at the very end of filming for nervous breakdown or sometime inbetween the release of the two videos. dude came back so strong though definitely made up for it!!!

I am also in the process of looking for someone who was able to record all of the show's commercials, along with the ending credits at the end of every episode. "Skate" was a teen-oriented skateboarding series that was a part of NBC's "TNBC" lineup during the 2001-2002 television season. The show only lasted one season, with a total of 13 episodes filmed. The main cast included Christopher Jorgens, Adrienne Carter, Jorgito Vargas, Jr., and Blair Wingo.
If you did record this show, especially if you recorded all of the TV commercials and the ending credits, or if you know anyone else who did record this show (in particular anyone else who recorded the commercials and the ending credits), please send an e-mail back to me immediately. I think appreciating that part would be like having a Ronnie Creger "What if?" appreciation thread or a Jamie Thomas new blood part appreciation. I just think that if you think Art bars is the best of that dude, then its a shame you never saw him in his prime.

-Hollywood skateboards wasn't a good idea and didn't worked out
-88 footwear was founded by him, but when the video came out he was already out of the company, 6 months later or less the company was dead
-Blind thing wasn't going anywhere
-Crimson was going really good at some point but problems with their partners in business fucked up the company
-Given its good, but looks like its going to crash in any moment or something like that

damn i've been searching for episodes of this show for a while. I remember the episode where his gf gets a job at the library, and she has to decide between kicking him out for skating it or her new job. or the one where he finds the perfect yellow rail to 50-50 and has to repaint it, or the sketchy guy that does sick griptape art
