I just looked real quick but $25 boards seems really cheap

Ok, who really made the skull graphic first... Toy Story or Zero? It's been mentioned on the forums before, I just don't remember if there was an answer to that.
$25 is cheap, but I gotta keep the lights on at my local shop.
-
wow, I could buy four boards with the same money Iwould buy one board here.
-
not bad....
-
Buzz Lightyear made the first skull graphic.

I like that, I feel the same. Just thought I'd help spread the word for Ronnie and help out some fellow slap pals on a budget

No, they're all brands made of Chinese wood. So they might as well be warped, I guess.

Yeah, they had that Tancowny deck and it was 8.25, but I checked about an hour later and its sold out
-
Thanks for the heads up. I got 4 boards and free shipping. Not bad at all. So this is Creager's online shop?
Edit: NVM had to pay $22 or so for shipping. It's alright. Closest shop to me is a Zumiez and I don't give my money to those guys.

There isn't a single 8.0 and most of those are companies I wouldn't really want to skate for free. I'm gonna pass.

ya, not to go on a rant but, shop boards completely out sell skate company decks so that's fuckin somebody in the skateboard world as well. i posted this link on our insignificant little skate blog and i had an industry homie ask me if did this because, "i hate skateboarding". bottom line is, if people are getting boards for cheap it's keeping people skateboarding. over the years i worked rode and tm-ed for a couple dif small shops and i understand it's a struggle to stay open but broke skaters have lights to keep on too. thanx for the link yep yep

cool. i remember last time the industry called out its consumers, it went VERY well.........

from wikipedia
The logo originated from the 1995 animated film Toy Story, where the character Sid is wearing a shirt with the same logo.
not sure that's true, but
toy story came out in 1995, zero started in 1996.
but than also the lead singer of soundgarden wore a pretty similar shirt in the 1994 video for some shitty song.
Soundgarden - Black Hole Sun (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3mbBbFH9fAg&ob=av2e#) @ :50 is a close up.

I got my boards yesterday and although I didn't really want grip, I got 4 sheets. Also, I got two sets of mounting hardware and some stickers. I don't know why people were complaining about the lack of 8" boards since that's all I bought. I noticed on the Baker boards that they were made in Mexico. So which is worse, boards made in China or Mexico?
-
definitely china. knowing my skateboard has been subject to 2 transpacific boat rides doesn't sit too well with me.
if it went on a truck back and forth to mexico, whatever.

See, but you're fine with your computer equipment or whatever electronics you own being transported that far, but you wouldn't trust china to ship wood? I just see china as more technologically advanced with better state run schooling resulting in better educated manufacturers or at least smarter people to run the machines.

damn i didn't know speed demons is still around...and they make full completes too??? literally trucks, boards, wheels, bearings...

that's two totally different things. when wood is exposed to that humid salt air, as well as the massive temperature changes it goes through on its trip, the veneers get soggy. they then dry them in a massive oven, which makes the boards end up brittle.
