One of the best, if not the best, styles ever.
Questionable. How dope is skating to the Beasties while cementing the backwards cap/baggy pants in skate history.
Modus Operandi. THE line. And that backlip ender is pretty gnar for MC, brought the classic steez to the handrail domination of that era.
Fully Flared. As big of a fan I was of the dude I was even taken aback by how insane this part was. Props to killing it over 30.
All his other parts are fabulous as well (Yeah Right!, FTC come to mind) but those three seem to be his best.

Mike Carroll is amazing.
I think he was the first favorite skater.
I always liked his goldfish part a lot, which people haven't talked much about here. That last line with him skating around EMB with everybody following him and getting hyped is rad.

Plus I once saw MC pull a full grown man from an 80 year old lady's womb, the guy had been stuck in there for 20 something years and shit. Everybody was like whoa. He licked his fingers and skated off into the sunset.

Carroll was a huge inspiration to me and my skating. I realized i could never skate like him... but he set the bar for inner city skateboarding with his EMB and downtown Frisco stuff. That carried with me for ever.

favorite skater of all times hands down, no contest. first video i ever saw was modus operandi and that shit blew my adolescent mind.
i met him once at back to the berg. got no pic or anything, but i just saw him and at first i was like 'nah, i'll leave him alone' but i just couldn't help myself haha. i walked up to him and shook his hand and gave him a bro hug type thing and i said 'you are the reason i started skating' and he said something along the lines of 'no i'm not dude...' and i replied 'yeah yeah yeah i know it's whatever but you're the fuckin man' and i walked away with a huge fuckin smile on my face. in retrospect i should have gotten a photo but he was mid conversation with someone so i just did my thing and dipped. sick encounter tho, i was hyped for a week hahah
i can;t help but geek out about MC

That footage is sick. I was so stoked when I was 17 and went to SF for the first time. EMB was a total bust by then but I skated it anyway. I noticed the plain clothes cops and went to Carls Jr to try to play it off like I was just getting some food.

When I met him he had an angelic glow about him. He told me to sit down and we shot the shit for a bit and watched people skate at the demo. Super chill guy. Told him what hundreds of other nerds before me told him, " that first line in Modus Operandi.."
