Okay, I want to move to South Cali when I turn 18, but wont have much money so im considering moving to Compton because its cheap. ? But as long as you stay out of shit will you still be messed with? ? Im white and have no plan to join a gang. Im mean, If I stay out of trouble will I still get messed with because im white? No Racist

Yep. Compton is pretty overrun with gangs, just about every block is sectioned off as turf. White boys in compton stick out like sore thumbs. You can go there and not get messed with, but if you move there, you'll probably get checked from time to time in very unpleasant ways.

I have a cousin who lived there. He said the first night there someone broke in and robbed him at gun point. He bought a gun the next day and he said he had to use it three times in the 6 months before he moved. (not shooting, just warding off knife wielding thugs or once a group of 8 thugs who were gonna try to rob him).

not really. I've been going to compton skatepark a lot lately. as long as it isn't dark, it's pretty safe.

why compton? There's plenty of cheap areas to live in any city without moving into the "hood". Sounds like you should learn more about LA than what the entertainment industry has already taught you.

theres a pretty sik park in compton, and good cheap southern asian restraunts.

theres other places in the los angeles area that are affordable and much safer.

Compton park is really fun. That cement hip is perfect. Definitely not a sketchy place to skate. I met with some administration people at a local middle school there, and they said that the park has been very good for kids around the area, its not totally turfed out or anything.

i heard a couple years back that if you qualified for section 8 that you could get a studio by skid row for about three hundred a month.

Not to get too all about the coast shit, but there was a teacher at my school in south central acting like she was all tough because she used to teach in the south bronx, and she quit 3 months in because she couldn't handle her kids. I think she had a cool group too. She just never bothered to learn about who they were.
