e3 was just on spike and they released a bunch of new footage for it. i have to say that i will have no life once this game comes out. this is the only game ive ever pre-ordered and for good reason. i feel no shame sounding like a loser cus this game is just incredible.

For PC, BF2 was the best game ever. Since my PC is old and shitty now, I no longer have that option.
I feel like Dice has a lot more to prove to peak my interest enough to buy this for 360, since it most likely will be a watered down version from the PC version (which I have already read is going to have extra features and details not for the consoles).
Plus, I also read that there is only going to be 8 stock maps for MP. So get ready to shell out at least 800 but most likely 1200 ms points for a map pack that probably should have been included in the retail release.

did you play bad company 2? it's the best multiplayer shooter of this console generation. it may be 8 stock maps, plus the 3 or 4 that come with the 'special edition', which is just the regular ass game. i pre-ordered it for the 360, but will have a more than capable pc in a few months, so i'll probably pick it up for that, too.

it's not a sequel, but it uses a new version of the engine from bc2. get it, the demo wasn't multiplayer if i remember correctly and that's where it shines. 15 months later and it's still the best multiplayer game on any system right now in my opinion. the maps aren't bf2 huge, but they are big enough for vehicles. just don't play as recon.

yeah bc2 was by far still better than blackops or mw2, but im sure it feels different than bf2 did. the bf3 for all consoles are getting original bf2 maps, weapons, and vehicles in the back to karkand pack which you get if you preorder. so the new maps plus those and i would think eventually map packs makes it great, plus you gotta remeber that the maps this time around are literally like 3x the size of anything on bc2.

Yeah, I don't really know how excited I should let myself be. PC is definitely going to have all the really standout shit, because outside of new technology it's a pretty standard shooter. Bad Company 2 is a ton of fun though, I just don't want to feel like I'm getting a second-rate version of the PC version with this one.
Some details have been coming out that sound pretty interesting, only three classes. Medic is merged with Assault, Support class machine gun has to be mounted on something to be accurate now (like Day of Defeat), and something about the Scout class being less able to run and gun. Plus apparently you can pin people down with suppressing fire and their vision will blur, which sounds interesting but could turn out super annoying.

I had to physically break my BC2 game so I would stop playing it. I had every pin and award but 1. It was my crack. Then they let the servers go to shit and it became the exact opposite of fun.
I can't wait for this game to rule my life.

I think It's more like I just don't want to get my hopes too high since I loved BF2 so much and now my computer is a POS so I won't be able to play the PC version. Still haven't tried BC2 but I intend to.
If they pull it off, it will be a very welcome change to the COD monopoly and I will probably choose this over MW3 (but who am I kidding I'll probably get that too, plus Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim is coming out at the same time, so looks like I'm not leaving my house for the month of november.)

Alright so EA is fucking around with this pre order bullshit. They are trying to split up content so you have to pay extra for the full game. Dice did not make this decision EA did. Boycott the pre order for this game so game companies know not to pull this shit.

Im hoping the graphics engine really makes a noticeable difference. The graphics in BC2 always seemed "muddy" or washed out, never very sharp.
The gameplay demos have been sick, just hope it translates well to actual online play.
Im glad this comes out 1 month before MW3, pretty sure between those 2 and Uncharted 3, I won't be getting much work done.

I have fond memories of playing BF2 and some very stressful ones as well. I remember this guy in a cobra chasing me into a building on one of the china maps and stalking me for like 20 mins! Also I remember a blackhawk was bearing down on me, guns blazing, and I hit it with my grenade launcher and it crashed right in front of me. Felt like a movie. If BF3 can deliver more moments like this, then they can have my money

I've been playing bad company 2 a bunch, not sure how I overlooked that game but I think I was just bitter about battlefield being on consoles.
It's awesome tho, I went 26/11 yesterday purely as assault capping flags the whole time.

I dont think either is better than the other, both are really fun for their own reasons
Battlefield has huge maps, at least 4 or 5 times bigger than any COD maps. This changes the whole dynamic of the game because battlefield features ground vehicles like Tanks, Jeeps and Helicopters. Team play is important in Battlefield, you need good teammates and have to work together with the different classes, medics, engineers to fix tanks etc. Sniping is much more prominent in Battlefield, at least compared to the most recent Black Ops.
I've always loved the Call of Duty franchise since the original MW. Relatively small maps, kill streaks, good balance of weapons, weapon customization. The last 4 games have differed from each other quite a bit. MW2 was difficult for me, too much of the game catered to campers who would just sit behind walls building their killstreaks. Thats another good thing about battlefield, destructible environments, nowhere to hide. Ive always liked the graphics in the Cod series over battlefield, but apparently MW3 is using the same graphics engine as Black Ops and Battlefield 3's are amazing as these videos show.

Yea man fun games yesterday. It was good when your mic worked for 10 minutes haha. The high pitched screeching noise after hurt my brain, get a new mic. If you dont have the texting pad grab that it comes with a mic and the combo is like 30$ or under.

ive been playing the beta, and while i wish i could review the game it feels like such an early build full of obvious glitches. The one down side to the beta is that despite it only being out for 48 hrs now. There is already clans of guys with crazy shit unlocked and have mastered the one map already, it's a quick reminder how unbalanced these games can get.

Its gonna be sick, you can tell. Theres so many glitches in this beta its hilarious but i think it's an early build, hopefully most of the testing is being done for the servers. Ive spawned inside a rock and been stuck, lost sound many times, cant walk over a 2 inch step up (have tp jump).
But asides from all the glitches I was able to fuck a lot of people up with the assault class and i really like how they did the prone in this.
The full games gonna be insane, this is just a tease especially since i mostly play conquest.

bc2 is dope and i play it alot, but the beta drove me fucking nuts, so many bugs and it's laggy as fuck. i've been waiting for this game for so long so i think i'm just going to delete the beta and wait for the full game.

As a mainly COD player I must say I'm pretty impressed by the beta (obvious glitches aside) Not sure what other modes it will have on full release but I'm enjoying the one that is on the Beta version, fucked quite a few guys up and levled up a fiar bit with the assault class.

I think I over hyped myself on the beta. Was a huge fan of BF2 and played that game non-stop back in the day, but I feel like this didn't live up to my expectations. That being said, it's only a beta and I'm still enjoying the hell out of it. Doing pretty good with the recon class.
Also Xbox live is free until Monday, so I get to use my regular account. Any slap heads trying to play this weekend?

prone grass stealth kill have made this game the GR experience i dearly miss. This beta is sloppy but the gameplay requires a pacing and team effort unique to BF brand.

it's pretty great. switching between support and engineer depending on the map. i'm liking it so far.

It's awesome, been playing as mostly engineer.....assault is good but I hate not being able to do anything when a tank rolls up.
There's still in-game glitches though. Last night me and my friend found a floor inside a house that if you go prone you go under the floor and can see everyone outside and inside the house but they cant see you too unless they are prone inside the house. I racked up 5 kills in a row this way last night until I got bored haha.

as someone that lives to snipe(ghost recon and socom nerd) and will fuck up any assault class by handgun, this game was made for me. The long line of sights on check points even in a subway station and the close quarters handgun fights helped get me my MVP acheivement (get 3 mvp's in mp) on my 4th fucking game.

depends on your play style
if you have lots of contacts always online who you play with, then I'd say Battlefield 3, its much more of a team game. Like the old games there are squads of 4, you can spawn on your teammates on any location, in vehicles etc.
This game you can play by yourself with no mic, like I do, and get away fine. It just gets really really frustrating when you play with fucking morons who go to bad areas, don't go for objectives, crash vehicles and sit at the spawns of jets and helicopters just waiting so they can fly around, get no kills and then crash and die again
Online co-op looks appealing, if anyone has PS3 let me know im down to try it

With how much smoke, debris and overall clutter there is on the screen, being able to look through the scope, in any type of light, and see a nice orange glow of an enemy is almost unfair. Im surprised more people dont use it, they are nuts

what's not bad ass is the sp campign. Holy pile of shit. My first real gun fight and i end up behind an invisible wall that wouldnt allow the enemy to see me even though i was just standing next to them watching them spawn over and over. The worst sp game design ive seen in years and the best mp ive seen in years, shits bipolar.

Actually I do have a USB mic, and it gets recognized with the correct name and I can choose it as audio input and output devices in the ps3 settings, however I can't seem to activate it in the game. So it doesn't work. Do I have to choose it somewhere else than in the ps3 settings for periphery devices? Maybe somewhere in the game?

Frisco, I've been using that IRNV scope on the A-91 on all dark or hazey maps and it feels like cheating haha. I'm also surprised more people don't use it.
Loving this game. With a tank last night went 11-1, with almost 6000 points just capping flags and raping all other tanks or anything on wheels.

This game is pretty sweet on PC (well, the multi player is. Campaign still sucks the big one) but I'm really not digging this on PS3. The lag is fucking terrible (I'm in Australia) and pretty much everyone selects bush-wookie class and doesn't go for check points. So disappointing.

There is a way to make it so your mic can only be heard by squad members or the entire team. I love this game.

There is a way to make it so your mic can only be heard by squad members or the entire team. I love this game.
pretty sure that's what it is by default.

can anyone help me out whenever i go to go on the single player disk it says it can't retrieve data or something. so i restarted but everytime turn my xbox off and come back to the game it does the same, i have to keep restarting. can i fix this or is it a case of just paying out for another game?
