I've had 3 pairs of Vaiders and they skate really well. I prefer the low top to the high top (mostly because the highs look goofy). I also have a pair of skytop lows that I'm skating and they're alright, not the best. Go with the Vaders

I had some amigo's. Really simple and great boardfeel but they didn't last long and in the UK at least, they are in the same price bracket as a lot of shoes that last a lot longer.

The new Ellington's/Avengers feel so good on your feet; really light and cushiony, though mine lost grip pretty quickly in the area under the ball of my toe.

na...I had some Supra Thunders and they werent that good to skate imo.

best supras I had to skate was the skylows imo.

I had a lot of Supras, I had the Skytops, Skylows, Stacks, Vaiders and Thunders.

the Vaiders were also really good.

but again, the Skylows were really the best imo.

I had a pair of Lizard King Passion Lo-tops that skated really well.  Light, good feel and fit, and decent padding.  The sole could've been a bit thicker to last longer, but overall a good product.

yeah, that had been the main problem with all supras that I had.

Suede Skytop 3's are the best midtop skate shoes of all time. yeah i said it. Durability of a tank, support of solid mid top cup sole, but with a perfectly pointed toe that dunks dont have. A 10 outta 10 shoe for me personally. 6pm.com usually has them pretty cheap too so the price aint even a problem. Make sure whatever colorway you get is suede tho because i have some leather & nubuck models that i dont skate but i noticed they dont come with the suprafoam insole with the orange gel in the heel & they're most likely not as durable as the suede ones. That is, if they're not the TUFs. those would prolly last until you totally blew out the sole.

Ellington Avengers (read: Supra dunk lows) are really great too. I haven't tried his new joints but im sure they skate exactly like a midtop version of those.

Does anyone know what the deal is with the soft stuff on the sole? None of my dixons had it, but i noticed newer models of dif supras had it.

Don't get vulcanized Supra's if you are looking for durability.

The only Vulc shoe I have ever skated was the Vaider, and they skated well enough, the sole blew the fuck out in like 2.5 weeks from pushing, though.

You land primo in those things and you are going to be done for the day.

Greco's new shoe, the Hammer is seriously the best shoe out from Supra.
Really durable with no special bells or whistles. Simplicity at it's best.

Ellington's Vega had that spongy sole I thought was good, it didn't wear down as quick as the Skytop 1 or Vaider's sole. Had the Vaider's in TUF and the sole gave way and separated from the shoe at the back, then a hole right through to the insole formed under my big toe and ball of my pushing foot. Good shoe, but not as good as the Skytop 1 in my opinion. I just hope they update it with a better sole. Vega's were fucking fantastic, just felt a little high in the sole. And one thing I will say is I love the Supra insoles, kept all the ones I've had and they are very comfortable and padded for a LONG time.
I'm jonesing to get a pair of the Hammers, looks like a fantastic shoe and I hear it has the same sole as the Skytop 3? With the heel insert thing and all that?

How do the soles hold up on the skytop 3s?

How do the soles hold up on the skytop 3s?

better than their typical soles. in my experience it seems like any model with a variation of their typical "S" grip pattern seems to last noticeably longer. really dont know why with the skytops tho seeing as how the only difference is the extra lines. maybe they use better materials for the more expensive models?

heres my pair. skated in em for a while then just started using em as regular shoes for lil store runs n shit like that. still probably gonna end up skating em again to finish em off.

Does the lateral plastic grid annoys you for the heelflips? I remember having some dunks with a rigid plastic swoosh and it was really unconfortable to heelflip due to the plastic.
I don't know if it makes any sense to you, but I know you're also a heelfliper, so I guess you'll understand.  ;)

Nah it's just a smooth rubber panel that feels like its flush with the side of your shoe. Feels like a normal side panel
