Lakai now being under the roof has made things even worse, it already took us months to receive Girl and Chocolate decks, and now it takes even longer when it comes to Lakai. Only had a couple pairs on the shelf for the last season because products that were quoted for June didn't arrive until September or October. I was curious to see if it was just a problem for skateshops so I had my neighbor order a few shirts from their website and it took two months to receive four shirts that he was told would arrive in two to three weeks. Does anybody know what gives on why it takes so damn long?

The only thing I think could be an issue is Crailtap has never experienced being an online store. It's way different then doing product orders for the stores. I am sure they are just bumrushed with orders they can't handle. I say give it time cause it could take a solid year to figure out this whole system.
On the other note, customer service is key with online ordering. I still like buying at shops cause I hate waiting for things to ship since it takes weeks mostly.

Okay first of all, Lakai and the rest of crailtap are completely separate. Second of all last week the warehouse staff at crailtap (not the lakai warehouse) stayed from 9-7 monday thru thursday, and 9-11:30 on Friday, stop bitching seriously it can't be that bad. And why don't you just support your local skateshop? Sorry for ranting...

Pretty sure the threadstarter is "your local skateshop" and that's why slow turnaround is such a problem. Just cause people are working hard doesnt mean shit is working like it should.

Well evidently you should be keeping a better eye on them because they aren't doing shit.

im pretty sure the online ordering vs the shop orders are un-related. we had the same problems with lakai orders being late/never showing up for a couple years, to the point where we quit carrying lakai altogether. we are back on with them and with all their recent changes (now that DVS is gone, the warehouse changed, and they have a new factory) everything has been going great!
if your shops rep isnt doing his job then hit up your in house guy and see if he can help. the guys over there have been great to work with from my experience. at the end of the day they want your money and you want their product. as long as you are paying your bills and repping their brands then it should run smooth.

Right! And if they are over worked they can certainly afford to hire more people

Crailtap is the perfect example of a skater owned company that takes advantage of its fanbase. its shit quality everything. Trucks are shit, clothing has fluctuating quality, decks are good shapes but the wood quality is shit. Lakai was dog shit until corpos forced them to make shoes that actually lasted more than a week. quality should just be a part of doing business, but for some reason at crailtap, quality is a secondary issue. Im not even surprised that their wearhouse guys work extra hours constantly.

exactly what i was thinking, if your complaining so much go to your god damn local shop. why are you even ordering from crailtap anyway? if your already ordering online you could probably find your shoes on zappos and have them there next day...
-
Has anyone skated the new factory Lakai's? Are they noticeably different/better?
-
Not really much choice. ? You either buy Crailtap wood, or you buy DLX wood, or you get stuck with a piece of shit board.
In my opinion.

Yep, the quality definitely jumped up, but, they are still blowing it on not offering enough cupsoles. All vulc everything.

haha there is no shipping method that takes longer than 7-10 business days. they ship UPS ground on most orders, so even the east coast has it in a week.

Ordering shoes for a skate shop from Zappos is fucking regular. Skate shops should be able to order Lakai's direct from the company and get them on time or you guys riding their dick to hard to understand that?

Bingo. Hire an operations manager and learn to run things like a real business. If this kind of thing was happening outside of the skateboarding world, Crailtap/Lakai would be out of business by now.

Hah, this dude sounds like a rookie to the game. I would bet he has unaccounted for past due invoices, which would mean he wouldn't be getting shipped product on time unless he paid up.
