If the graphics are good enough, and falloutboy is in the soundtrack, it's gonna be huge. Matt Lauer will no longer be able to deny skateboarding's rise to prominence.

wow, that is fucking pathetic that at the end of the day the best namebrand dill can come up with is 'fucking awesome.' not a single intelligent person will wear such clothing. at least 'freedumb' imploys irony, and dreohobol is the man of the hour. dill is the fucking idiot of the year.

If kids are buying your hoodies for $100 a pop, why wouldn't price them that high? Drugs are expensive.
-
For two people like Dill and AVE who scream that they're "core" and down with skateboarding to launch a brand that prices they're shirts at 40 fucking dollars a pop is pretty "upriver" if you ask me. I thought these two were the blue collar guys in skateboarding who were down with supporting the true skateboarders who've been in it for the long haul,...guess not.
BOOM. This post is so fucking on point.
Jason Dill is a deluded hypocrite that deserves no one's backing. He is exploiting skateboarders every bit the same as Nike, Adidas and any other 'big business' brand that Slap-sters deem it cool to scoff at these days, the only difference is Dill is pretending to be "down" for you by being core. So, in the end, it's an even bigger and funnier joke on skateboarders that actually spend their money on his junk. Fuck him.

as big as the market is for "street" wear priced clothing in skateboarding, there is another side of the coin, and that is the skateboarders who keep skating despite the chipped tails, ripped shoes, and flatspotted wheels. There are alot of real skateboarders that use what extra money they have to keep skating no matter what. That extra money we all have is just enough in this economy to use towards things like decks, shirts, shoes, etc....For two people like Dill and AVE who scream that they're "core" and down with skateboarding to launch a brand that prices they're shirts at 40 fucking dollars a pop is pretty "upriver" if you ask me. I thought these two were the blue collar guys in skateboarding who were down with supporting the true skateboarders who've been in it for the long haul,...guess not. As long as these dudes charge that much for a fucking skateboard tee, im not going to support them. This is skateboarding. This isnt some stupid fashion industry. Same goes for Palace! Smaller brands don't have the buying power to get the lowest prices when sourcing manufactured goods. The more you produce the cheaper they get thus the larger corporate backed brands can produce everything cheaper and make a bigger margin off it. When you look at Palace goods particularly their soft goods you'll find that the materials, printing and production methods are generally of a greater quality than your average branded clothing item. Their tees are a heavier cotton and the printing is a higher quality. Things like their button downs and rain jackets are manufactured in London rather than in Asia so the cost skyrockets, but Palace like Polar are dedicated to producing products of a higher quality even if the final cost is less competitive than say a DC or Element product. It's their business model not just a money grab. They produce less and cost more. Their boards are made in the same wood shops as other brands and boards are a commodity so the price stays about the same. Look at Scumco&Sons, they're producing boards in the USA with hand finished design elements, low numbers of output largely because of the intense labour and cost yet they can't go and sell them for a greater margin than any other company. Sometimes the hype is just hype but also some companies invest more in what they're selling.

fucking awesome is a street wear company (right now) those prices aren't based on skate industry or anything like that. he is a skater who is taking money from idiots like Tate, I don't se a problem. if their decks come out at 100$ then it's be something to complain about.

nothing in the world can justify a $110 price tag for a 100% cotton hoodie

if your in it for the love not the money the answer should be obvious.

yea he's in it for the love of street wear, kids looking like rich idiots is just so fulfilling.

FUCKING EMBARRASSING

Stop discussing this, it has no use any way.
What do you guys think? that Dill's gonna read this and change his prices?
He is sponsored by supreme.
supreme charges outrageous prices for hideous clothing.
Fucking awesome actually does exactly the same.
Do I care?
Hell no I don't... i'm not going to pay 100 dollars for sweatshirt with a bad design on it.
There are ALWAYS going to be kids that are going to buy this stuff.
Dill is affiliated with supreme so that instantly makes it cool with the hypebeasts. Some european blogs go crazy about this whole supreme, fucking awesone, huf... stuff.
If supreme would put out a turd and slap a supreme logo on it, some Asian hypebeast would probably be buying it off ebay for 400 dollars.

I understand how businesses works and i get the fact they're trying to create some sort of revenue system for when they can't skate later in life but lets be real....if you love skateboarding THAT much, as much as these fools say they do, then don't charge 110 dollars for a hoodie that says fucking awesome. I digress, only time will tell what kind of company this is but if it mirrors the current business model that dill is running count me out.
-
I agree that the prices are outta control but the fact is the people that wanna pay that much for a t-shirt will and the ones that don't won't. As for "the love" being the reason to do or not to do things or charge certain amounts is stupid. I don't know who here has real responsibilities but "the love" ain't gonna pay the bills.

So far no one has confirmed that Fucking Awesome is a skateboard company. It's Dill and some other dudes clothing company that has been in some form of business for over 5 years. This is old news folks (small run, limited edition, street wear, over priced cool kid clothing). Until they turn it into an official skateboard company and start marketing to skaters you really don't have much validation on saying they are ripping off skaters. If they do turn this company into a skateboard brand and charge exorbitant prices then I might too have a problem supporting them.

My thoughts exactly.
As far as Fucking Awesome charging above cost it works in their favour. My girlfriend is a designer and I've seen the costing sheets that go into items that are far more complicated than a print on a t shirt, from raw material, labour hours, marketing and design hours. These all factor in, but when it comes to the actual RRP you decide on there is a benefit to being way above that price. Being more expensive plays into a basic human desire to be seen as successful and privileged or of means. To certain elements of society the greater the cost the more the desire to acquire, regardless of quality, design or aesthetic. Chanel for example never discounts and never goes on sale, they simply shift the remaining product to foreign markets or store it until it can be labeled as vintage. This creates desire. If you wouldn't pay above the odds for it someone else will as they see a different value in it. Limiting numbers does the same thing. That's why you have people lining up around the block for limited edition sneakers that are exactly the same as the stock ones but with crazy colours added.

Yeah, heaven forbid things get discussed on, you know, a messageboard. Some of you fucking clowns are hilarious.

so you'll be pissed if FUcking Awesome is going to sell over priced tees but when Palace does the same shit everyone jizzes their panties?

Did you read through the thread just to write that? Far be it from me to accuse but if you read through this thread and post a comment on the thread...You probably care

that $110 hoodie better come with a blow job. jesus christ thats insane
-
dill is an OG supreme kid. hes as core as core gets.
No one really cares about Supreme... I mean skater's don't really care about Supreme. They care more about Dill's contribution to skateboarding. Besides, Dill is an "OG A1-Meats, Blockhead, Tracker fuckin' Climax Distribution Kid". Climax has done way more for skateboarding than Supreme ever will. Sure, Dill may be down with Supreme but Supreme just isn't that relevant in a "How Core is Dill?" argument.

Okay, so, we go threads about about Dixon, Boulala, and an announcement about Dill's long-standing clothing co.
