Huf #1? What a shocker. This numbered list sucks. Freedumb Airlines isn't on there, either is Toy Machine socks.
-
Where's Domestics? Where's Doom Sayers? Where's Freedumb?...
Hadn't even heard of half the stuff in that list...
-
people like the number 10
-
board companies = clothing companies? wtf
also no Caste? da fuck nigga? buster ass complex
-
board companies = clothing companies? wtf
"Best Skater-Owned Clothing "
-
First time ever I hear about Jimmy Gorecki's sweatpants brand. Complex also titled him as a relevant skater. Gorecki has been under the radar for a couple years.
-
That's really specific criteria, "skater-owned clothing companies" so specific that they included not one, not two, but three board brands in the list. Towards the top too. This is just regular.
-
Here's another one of those top "things" this one is 20 deep and has a pretty good selection
http://green-label.com/style/20-skate-brands-you-should-know-about-right-now/s/palace/ (http://green-label.com/style/20-skate-brands-you-should-know-about-right-now/s/palace/)

I cringe at the thought of a non-skater reading this article and taking it at face value.
-
Since it's complex, I'm surprised that they didn't mention Supreme or Palace.
If it was a legitimate blog I would have expected to see Freedumb, but it's Complex so....
& I got a chuckle about the whole wearing Asphalt Yacht Club so you don't look like a poser. lol'z
-
lol

Jimmy is killing it atm. (Clothes wise)
Don't think he skates much anymore.
-
Why did I actually read this ???
-
Why is everyone crying about freedumb? Hasn't even hit shops yet.

Yeah, selling sweatpants for $100. Fucking killing it.
-
I like how ayc bought their way on the list. I guess since core shops aren't hoping on right away they're doing a deal where if a shop makes a order they will send the whole team out to the shop. I don't know who hires these people at complex but they could do a million times better if they just grabbed a slap pal
-
lol complex has been making shitty lists for just everything for a while now. bruh how y'all gon read "But AYC is for the skater who wants chilling clothes that don't jeopardize their legitimacy and get them labeled as a "poser."" and act like this shit was super credible or something?

Seriously! Imagining someone using this article as any kind of legit platform to base his understanding of the skateworld on is super depressing.

You guys realize this list is The 10 Best Skater-Owned Clothing Brands Right Now according to non-skaters, it's not a list about what skaters consider to be the best. They're outsiders looking into the culture and making decisions, so of course the list is not gonna be what everyone here likes.
The list is for other non-skater, hypebeast type people to look at and then go and cop to try and look cool, so just be happy your favorite brand isn't in there...

-
Cool to see Hopps on it but no 10 Deep, Might Healthy or Palace? Fuck this list
-
Asphalt YAWN Club is super lame, and to new, no one has that shit and no one wants anything besides to watch their video's because they have a sick team. Figures Complex would add them to the list, maybe they should. Listen to VOL4

10 Deep doesn't have a skate team/ program anymore.

But yo when u ovacome raycest ass niggaz an 5hit den u aint gon let nobodies moafucka holdchu back. dun matta bout da coloa of ya skin or da fact dat niggaz finna hatechu fa bein u, just do u an den aebodie gon eat real talk purple drank.
I'm getting at the fact that Stevie goes through these stereotypical-for-him rants about making it in skateboarding through racism, ummm other obstacles, etc.
-
Fourstar, Altamont, Krew?
Pretty jiggy listicle.
-
"being black is hard, everyone hates me."
-
Super bummed.
Came here hoping for some of the hottest tips in the skate fashion scene, but instead only found out where to get me some 'spensive sweat pants for my urban yoga class.
What's a bro got to do to find out what's hot and what's not in skate fashion? Who can we trust for this insight? I need color forecasts and style books, folks. I need NEXT YEAR'S looks now now now. I want niggas at the skatepark to back the fuck up when I arrive wearing a cape and jodhpurs. Is Supreme dropping a skort look this spring? Are overalls the next old look to come back? What about Jim Greco's late 80's AIDS cowboy look? I scan through the pages of every CCS catalog I can find and it seems to me that big-tittied Indian girls with joints hanging out of their mouths are big right now...can anyone confirm this for me? And what about shoes? Now that cup soles are on the come up again, should I start buying vulcs to be ahead of the curve? I heard that 5 panel hats are out? Is this true? I need to know if pot leaves on socks are still kewl or if I better sell all my HUF "Fuck It" apparel before it loses market share.
Can somebody help me please?

I totally agree, it's so lame that a black guy from a ghetto Philly upbringing would talk about his personal story as a way of inspiring kids from the same background as him. That's seriously so corny.

so helas and lucas are still cool
