Ya, like when his epicly later'd came out and people were like "Oh it's so cool how he doesn't party and lives in a suburban Mcmansion! It's so interesting how he spends his free time mowing the lawn! The pictures of him with his girlfriend in a frame that says BFF forever is soooooo swaggy."

I think it's awesome that Westgate's vegetarian for some reason, last guy i'd expect. Maybe he'll go vegan and get on Toy Machine with his  ,ade in Emerica homies and it will be amazing. Seriously though how awesome would it be?

It's kind of different though, since no one skates like Westgate. Do you know any boring people that skate like him? He also seems a bet resourceful than your average skateboarder, which is refreshing to hear since all the skateboarders I know are wasting their mid to late 20's in a bar or pretentiously sipping coffee at some bullshit overpriced shop. Also, I bet everyone that read the interview watches his video parts that were posted too; I know I don't do that with every posted part in an interview.

If only they brought back the Es Koston 2, that shoe would fit in for today's market.

I also like that you have the purple tape as your avatar.

No way that was true.  It's like when your woman suggests watching some porn and you have stumble around a little bit being the naive gentleman.

If it is true, then we are probably one  free streaming porn link away from Westgate disappearing into is basement for a few months.

Word, Raekwon is supposed to drop FILA in January, but nothing beats Cuban Linx.

I had a pair of these Koston 2's that I refused to skate in for months.

My dad actually has a pretty similar opinion on music. ?He doesn't dislike anything, but he doesn't really like anything either. ?He's just kind of indifferent about it. ?What's funny is that my dad whistles whenever he's working on a task or whatever but it's only two songs, "New York, New York" or the theme to old Smurfs cartoon.

On this point, I have an ex who isn't into music...at all. Weirdly enough, he likes that song "Love me love me" (or whatever it's called) by The Cardigans.

I really love music but I'm the same way.  I just don't collect it.  Acoustics are good and when I'm getting on a flight I appreciate something to listen to.

Also, not watching porn is a good idea and healthy behavior, especially if you are already with a good looking woman.

I've always found it odd when somebody doesn't have an interest in music or hasn't explored what they might dig. Sometimes it has made me distrustful of them like they're missing something. I do know a super talented skater that was very similar in this way, he liked what people played him but never bought music. As the years went on he got more into it but I felt like it was an attempt to fit in an I felt bad about pushing the subject.

i used to b completely obsessed with music, in a similar way to how i am with skating. im getting back into it again but for the last few years my interest has waned considerably. i dunno why. i smoke way too much weed. actually maybe its because songs bum me out so easily/often.

This guy has the most boring personality is skateboarding history. Also one of the biggest health/proper behaviour kooks out there. Obviously his skating is untouchable, but I don't really care as much if Nyjah wins soty anymore. You should never trust a man who claims he doesn't know about free internet porn.

My friend that didnt really care about music was one of the most naturally talented skateboarders I've ever witnessed and didn't really care much about skateboarding. He went skating and stuff but flaked on arrangements with sponsors or forgot to call photographers. The guy could land consistent 720's and board slide 14 stair rails in 1992 but couldn't get his head around commitments and I'm not sure if it ever bothered him.

Man, you guys make me feel old. I used to be a fanatic about music. Ravaged through pretty much every genre. Now I am indifferent. I think it's an age thing. Though, I have friends of the same age who are still rabid about music, but they are all musicians. Everyone else my age is somewhere between me and my musician friends.

But, that's one of the things I like about Brandon. He's hella mature for his age. I wish I had my current mindset at age 24...

I don't think it's an age thing, I guess I just don't understand how someone can bored with music. We're skateboarders, almost all of our documentation is set to music, and it can make or break that. Music has progression too, even if it's just individual progression plowing through genres and artists and finding what you dig. It's all about the exploration, the journey. Not necessarily the end game.

Oh, I find music is integral -- when accompanied by something else. Such as skating, or documentaries, or parties. But I rarely ever listen to it by itself. I think part of it is age, but another part is that A) contemporary music bores the crap out of me and B) I've researched the shit out of older music. I just feel like there's not much I haven't come across. And remakes are so vapid.

There's a lot of great contemporary music if you look hard enough. Or know where to look, or ask around. Or learn an instrument (assuming you don't already know one) I found that learning a new instrument really reopens the interest in music

I totally agree; I bought a drum kit from a buddy and working a bit on the drums re-energized a piece of my mind for listening to music that I'd forgotten about.

I could definitely see how learning an instrument might reignite the spark. But, I don't feel like anything is missing. I'm content with or without music. Who knows. Maybe that will change.

that's it right there. most people have a time in their life where finding contemporary music isn't hard because you are surrounded by people who are into music when you are young. but when you get older, just like less of your friends skate, i find that a lot less of them also are into music. so to find interesting new stuff it takes a lot of time and effort. i have a job that allows me to listen to music 4-6 hours a day so i put in some work on it. but for other people, once you start working full time and coming home to a tired wife and wound up kids, it's kind of hard to find time to sit down and relax to a new album.

except for stoners, i don't really know anyone my age that keeps up with music. but that makes sense because when your faded, you've implicitly got time to chill.
