APB?
He talks about Es shoes, the surf industry getting played by the mainstream and how skateboarding has been 'bought by sports brands'.

i think he was referring to nike surf (don't quote me on this) where they sponsored the us open of surfing after vans had it for years. They put all that money into hurley buying out the surfers then they dropped the program when the money wasn't right. quiksilver did the same thing

(After reading into this for 20 mins) It seems Hurley and it's parent company Nike dropped the US surfing open and left the contest high and dry. The question is why they left??? did surfers get wise to all the cooperate money and not buy there product? i hope so

Maybe they haven't left. They could just be on hiatus? Or a creative retreat?

It is quite ironic that he wants to come off as so hardcore and lambast the state of the industry when his entire professional career as a skateboarder was based on contests and scoring in the freestyle contests he entered.

kind of crazy, Pierre had an opportunity to keep koston and keep es on top of its game and all he had to do was share and give koston a piece of pot at eS and he was not down to do it. I don't want to be talking shit but at this point what is the difference the corporations take advantage of the pros and make all the money and it appears he did the same thing.

Would it have hurt to go out and get a skate photo? You talk about being a skater, well show me a photo of you skating not posing like a dork with ugly shoes!!

"Professional" careers back then were contests, and they hardly made any money. Especially doing freestyle. I think he is talking about todays contests, corporate entities pumping money into big events only to cut them when the financial returns weren't high enough.

You remember his signature move? The Ollie foot grab.....he blazed the trail for a whole generation of fruit booters....

Never trust an ex freestyle pro... Though one owns my local, he's alright. Really though, how can you say "I love skateboarding, I'm French" and have a dirtbike team?

I think most people trust Rodney.
