What's DO's n DONT'S, nice scales and messieurs and so on..

I haven't read this copy but I had a similar book ages ago and they had some sound tips for measuring, marking and cutting transitions.

Post by: Chavo on April 19, 2014, 11:32:57 PM: Staking down a piece of twine and drawing it with a pencil works well. Use the first cut transition as a template after you rasp off the high spots.

If it's an 8 foot or larger transition, you can use a circular saw (assuming you're using a standard 7 1/4" blade or smaller) instead of a jigsaw to save time. Just make sure to back the blade off so it just barely cuts through the plywood and lay it flat on a lawn.

Draw it out on cardboard or butcher paper, check to see if you'll scrape your nose on the way up. And check out skatepark ramps, other people's designs, jersey barriers, etc. for references.

For cutting, use a jigsaw, right?

Basically just do whatever's clever, but I'd draw it out on cardboard first and maybe even make a mock-up. Just go to a recycling dumpster and cut your curves, make a floor and deck, and then make a fort and invite all your friends over. Making out with babes in forts is awesome. Call me when you're done cuz I wanna hang out.
