Skate parks in the midwest are finally starting to catch up to the rest of the (first) world. This looks fucking amazing.

Place looks like a tranny skaters paradise. I lived in Michigan from 1990-1995 and the only park we had was the Skate Zoo in Kalamazoo, about 45 minutes from the podunk town I lived in. It's good to see parks popping up around there, the skaters need them.
In a place with such harsh winters it would be nice to see cities making some free covered/enclosed parks too.

Kzoo was the shit back then.

Des Moines IA is working on plans to build a crazy one
-
skatezoo still is the shit, best mini ramp ever.
-
I moved up to the upper peninsula about a month ago, no skateparks but it snowed yesterday
-
It's about time this thing gets built, they have only been trying for ten years.

Opened up last week. It's amazing. Tony Hawk, Ron Allen, Tony Magnusson, Andy Macdonald, and some kid who skates for movietickets.com named Alex Sorgente came out for the grand opening. They're still accepting donations for the endowment fund (https://www.paypal.com/us/cgi-bin/webscr?cmd=_flow&SESSION=DpWE5cfkJl_ewbPiD2f-P570hWSCNz6oa7ZXaE-urDV4Bw2wr30hVzyF8Ti&dispatch=5885d80a13c0db1f8e263663d3faee8d5402c249c5a2cfd4a145d37ec05e9a5e) if you're able to help out.

But yeah, this place is nuts. Made a trip back to Ann Arbor to skate it for the week.

Damn. Of course I had to have a kid right now. ::)
-
just got back from going tonight. Sick as hell. Pretty busy, but everyone was real cool and even the scooter kids weren't bad. Once you go there, you'll appreciate those last two bowl pics of Tony and that local. The deep end in that bowl is fucking massive. Park is worth a trip for sure.

Been skating there every off day I've had this past week. I'm ecstatic that it's finally a thing. Such a fun park!
