Oh hey. I'm staying in Tokyo for the week, and I'm trying to find the meet-up spot. I'm going to be in Osaka next week, and I'm looking for spots/skaters around there too.
The last thread was over a year old, so I thought we could give Skate Japan another try.
Does anyone on here in live in Japan.
I live in Korea right now, and so far that seems to be better, spot wise. Korea might actually be the best place I've ever skated

Dont live there but went there a few years back. You'll have to skate late at night, daytime has to much traffic from pedestrians. I just skated around the main downtown area where all the malls are and ran into some skaters who spoke decent english and had beers, cool ledge spot, not really epic, kind of fun to talk them they knew all about the SF bay area spots. I'm sure they're are some skateparks you could google.

I was in both Tokyo and Osaka earlier this summer.
This will help you out for Osaka.

The best advice I've seen on SLAP regarding skateboarding in Japan would be to just skate everywhere and keep moving because you'll keep finding the sweetest lil spots on accident. Japan is a wonderful country to visit, I intend on trying to find a job teaching English or as a farmhand there after I finish up my undergrad

Hey Dylan,
Come on down to our place (http://mintskate.com/ (http://mintskate.com/)) when you are in Osaka and we'll take you out all over. We almost exclusively skate at night because of shop hours unless we are out on a filming mission. Probably best to hit me up with a facebook message but if you don't use facebook you can PM me here on Slap.

Sorry for the double post...
Regarding Tokyo, your best bet is probably to hit up a shop or 2. I recommend Hesh Dawgz (http://www.heshdawgz.com/ (http://www.heshdawgz.com/) ) in Shibuya sort of near the Nike park and Fat Bros ( http://www.fatbros.net/map.html (http://www.fatbros.net/map.html)) in Nakano.
I know a bunch of dudes get together in Ikeburo near the station but I'm not local so I couldn't really tell you the best place to go is.

isn't ARKTZ http://www.arktz.com/access (http://www.arktz.com/access) the one near the nike park in shibuya? heshdawgz is way down in the middle of harajuku from memory ???

Park wise there are a few in and near the Tokyo area.
The Nike place in Shibuya, Miyashita park.
Tamachi is always worth a look,
Shin Yokohama park is fairly near central Tokyo too.
Planet out in Hachioji is good but a trek to get to...
There is an FTC near Arktz too.

Agreed with the OP, spots in S.Korea rule. The ground can be rugged though.
I'm also in Tokyo right now and will be in Japan for two months. Kinda off topic, but does anyone know where the spot at 1:40 is?

That’s in Yashio, Saitama. You need a car to get there. Fun spot but hard as fuck to skate.
Going out to the spots between 0:56 and 1:28 if you want to join.

Oh okay. Bummer, but thanks. Yeah it looks pretty challenging.
Damn! I should've checked this earlier. That spot looks fun. I'm guessing you're already out?

Feel free to hit me up if you want to skate.
If you're planning on July, I'd schedule your trip during the latter half.
The rainy season carries on into the first couple of weeks.
