Title: 169s on an 8.5?

anyone ride that? I'm trying to size down to an 8.5, but I'm wondering how frankensteined it would be. I've ridden them on an 8.6, and you can kinda see the axel nuts sticking out

Riley Hawk rides 169's on an 8.5 and he seems to do just fine

I did it for a while, the axle does stick out, but not too much more than they would on an 8.6. I've found that the wheel bite is much worse when the trucks are that much bigger.

Jackson Do IT, NO PROBLEMS HERE AND I RIDE AN 8.375 pop with 159's and a 8.75/8 with 169er's you'll enjoy it regardless.

I would highly suggest 159's.  They are a perfect fit for an 8.5.

Axles would stick out by 0.3125"(7.9375mm) on ea side if you ride 169s on an 8.5"

159s fit an 8.25" better than 169s fit 8.5"

Generally speaking, I like my trucks to be within a 1/4" of my deck. Recently I've really liked having trucks slightly wider than the board...
