Title: Sony TRV help
Post by: CreepySweaty on December 02, 2014, 07:25:10 PM
So I'm borrowing my friend's TRV in order to capture some footage from a mini DV tape.
His camera has been sitting in his car for months. We live in ohio and it's been pretty cold (below 32F) here.
I brought the camera inside and tried to play the footage back and the camera started beeping and flashing the "eject" symbol.

I saw like half a second, then blue screen and no footage.

I read online that this may be because of condensation and that I should let the camera "acclimatize".

Any help?

keep the camera in your room switched off with the tape deck open over night and try again tomorrow.

If the problem is condensation then that means there's a small amount of water in the camera. I would try putting the camera in a bag of rice. Just make sure no rice gets in the camera, I once made that mistake with my VX1000 and it was pretty embarrassing explaining that one to Kerry at Video Electronics
