Saw this in the Nike or Adidas thread and LOL'd. How about we get a thread where we post pics of shitty skate shoes. Not necessarily based on performance, but stuff that sells to the non-skateboarding market and other abortions.

PS inb4 d3's

True, tried skating in a pair and was one of the worst shoes EVER.

I've only kept the Wu Welsh Newport ones that I got on sale.

When I was in middle school I was obsessed with these shoes. I wanted them for so long. To this day I think they are one of the best looking shoes ever. When I finally got a pair after months and months of waiting I started skating them and these giant bubbles formed in the sole. It was like some layer of glue between the base of the shoe and the sole was really shitty and came apart and let air in. I exchanged my pair at the store cause it was a legit defect. The new pair i got did the same thing but I wanted to skate the shit out of them so bad that I popped the bubble on the sole and threw a bunch of super glue on the puncture wound to patch it up. Still bummed on these shoes after all these years...

Did anyone ever get a chance to skate the emerica cruisers?? i remember that being one of the only shoes that i just couldn't get used to. Ive always loved all the emericas i've tried (The hsus, original laced, reynolds vulc, Figgys,) but i remember being really underwhelmed with that shoe, it was ridiculously slippery and couldn't really skate at all with it.

I had these too. I picked them up really cheaply because I was intrigued with the tech.

Holy shit were these things stiff. The airbag seemed to run the entire length of the sole giving you 0% board feel. The rubber upper was also really rigid. Pretty much impossible to skate.

Ended up wearing them to the gym but they were too uncomfortable, so I chucked them.

I had those and didn't have any defects. Got them on clearance at Zumiez, of all places. Out of all the Accel's I had, those were the best. Thick, quality leather. Last forever. Took me all summer and then some to finally retire them. Took a couple of sessions to break in though.

Old Picos before Lakai switched factories. I dont really fuck with vulc shoes, but these were mad cheap, so I bought them, because I was short on money. They turned to shit after 2 sessions, suede teared apart, almost looked like I used a knife on them.

The first Nike Tre was amazing. Mine lasted a year until a zoom airbag popped. Then i popped the other and threw Dunk insoles in.

The new GT Blazer is a soggy piece of shit and is only $10 bucks less than the former's retail price. Thanks, Nike!

Hated those fucking things. A few of my friends and my little brother all liked them though. I think maybe the problem was just the colorway I had. Maybe thats why ZEBRA says he liked his Zoom Air Teams but others hated them, idk. The orange color tre I had was a hard plastic that didn't flex at all. The ones my friends and brother had were softer and more rubber like. My brother skated his forever and loved them until he finally ripped through them. I gave him mine and he was blown away how shitty mine were compared to his. I think they are still in a closet somewhere. Moral of the story, Nike is all over the place with their shoe quality.

I like the more square toe boxes. I have a square foot and just recently in the last year noticed how much of a difference it makes when I get shoes that are more square.

Yeah, it had to have been just the pair you had. The 3 pairs I had took forever to wear out. Never had a problem with the grip, and only ripped a hole in one and it was in the toe. Just shoe gooed it and it was good to go.

I loved the Angus but there were more than a few poopy colorways. Also, the synthetic leather models took forever to break in.

All three of those Nike shoes had crazy padded insoles and the midsoles were also more substantial than most stuff on the market today. I loved that shit and it felt like you were buying a quality product unlike Nike SB circa now.

These pieces of shit went bald in two weeks from walking in them(no skating whatsoever) and the toe piece was so flimsy and thin that it couldn't even hold it's shape.

I had these right after, they were half the price of the hufs and lasted two months of daily skating. ipso facto, fuck huf.

DC village. Released years ago though. They had a thick rubber toe cap under super suede, thin and indestructible. As good as they were tho, you still saw two DC logos every time you looked down.

To be fair, those airwalks (protoype 540? 1080?) were made for vert/ knee sliding. Pretty sweet shoe esp. if you were coming from OG chuks or vision street wear. Great thread btw. I can think of lots but I guess I am looking at them from a functional point of view...
What about all the Airwalk NTS 2s and 3s that came out, I swear everyone at my high school was wearing them at one point ???

Anybody remember these?? Super popular when I first started skating in 2001 in my area. Everybody had them. Main reason I wanted them cause they were "cool". Something goes for the Osiris D3 2000. That mind set changed real quick within the first 6 months of skating.

Never had them, but I can't imagine they were too good. They just look uncomfortable.

The guy that designed them talked about them quite a bit in an interview (that was recently re-posted on here).
I actually didn't mind that sole though (they used this sole on a few of their different models)

oh they were terrible and actually the definition of what this thread is all about (came in awful colorways too), them and the lo cut II's.

That sole though ... I had this brown canvas/ suede pair of shoes that looked like low cut hiking boots (smolik wore them in fulfill the dream i think) with rope laces and they were so dreamy <3 Anyone have any idea what model I'm talking about?

The entire nike sb thread.
It actually blows my mind they can still find colour combos for the janoski that haven't been done.
On a serious, and possibly controversial note my vote goes to the halfcab. They tore and wore through so quick, maybe they were lemons?

The Adidas Seely is a beautiful shoe but they never, I mean NEVER break in enough to be skated in.

After a year and half, they still feel like a pair of leather boots

One of the best looking shoes i had but one of the worst i skated... Bought them when first came out. Was all hyped with this new thing, the wafflecup, and they looked so great + chima colorway, had to buy it. But fuck, it was such a let down. 1st i had to buy half size up to my feet fit in, and thought they were still a little tight, but in the end they stretched so much that i could go down 1 full size. They dug into my achilles, the insole was pure garbage, flatten out in about 2 weeks. The sole gone bald in no time and then it cracked like i havent seen in any other shoe. The inner material was terrible, some kind of canvas that ripped of and rubbed the shit out of my fingers... Oh and they were hot, like REALLY HOT! i dont get lots of sweat stains in shoes but in these they were always there, it was like a microwave shoe.

I think you got a bad pair. Had the same ones and they were amazing. Everything quality. Super hard to rip through anything. Skated them for  a total of like 3 months, I would say. Hurt my knee and had to have surgery, to come back to these and skate again. My feet were super hot in them also. My only complaint.

I did have a pair from a different season and they changed the materials a little so they didn't hold up as well. They were garbage.

Hurt my knee and had to have surgery, to come back to these and skate again. My feet were super hot in them also. My only complaint.

I did have a pair from a different season and they changed the materials a little so they didn't hold up as well. They were garbage.

Yeah i had them for about 3/4 months, 1 or two of chilling in them, but then i'm not a shoe destroyer at all. I skated like 3 times a week, 4 at best at the time. A good shoe last me atleast 5 months skating! But yeah they had good things too. The suede was great, couldnt get any holes or major damage in it, and the shoe shape was nice and had a good flick. Plus, the style points were high in these, chicks loved them! I actually filmed one of my best tricks in them ahahaha

Oh my god I think my first pair of actual skate shoes were those rising suns but black with a purple sun and they were mids, got em cause I saw Billy Marks wearing them in what I'm pretty sure was toy machines tour video lurkfest. Talk about nostalgia haha

I actually still have a brand new pair of the Fallen Chiefs that I have yet to skate. I bought the shoe out of nostalgia, and it's one of my favorite shoes of all time. Still haven't decided if I should skate them or not

Same here. I bought some Midtop Chiefs about a year ago, because they were mad cheap. When I got them, I was in shock how puffy they are, I remeber them as some of the slimmer shoes from that era. They are vulc, so I dont know if I can skate them, but they are for sure way different than I remembered them.

Wait what's wrong with the Reynolds cruisers? I always wanted a pair and since they re-printed them they've become a serious choice.

I really liked the pair that I had about 2 years ago, they skated great. Got an ollie hole kinda fast but other than that they were good shoes for me

*Vans Stage 4 Chima pic*

Vans Stage 4

RIGHT?! What's with that?? I had girls really like them too. Maybe because not a lot of guys were wearing maroon shoes?? I don't know...

I'd have a girl over and she would wonder why I have so many pairs of shoes and she would be like,"I like these ones". Random...

I had the black suede/gum ones from their first run. So good. I loved that shoe. Pretty much good outta the box. Don't think the tread lasted very long though.
I had the same colorway and they skated great.  Maybe circa just made them shitty and JT fixed them when he made fallen.

i always wanted those for some reason.

also the reynolds cruiser was one of my least favorite shoes ever. prolly cuz i started skating them after 10 pairs of chukka lows. the sole felt way too high in comparison.

They just look uncomfortable.

i made out with some girl who had these in 8th grade. i checked her facebook and she looks like a recovering addict..

Im skating peppers at the moment. They feel (and look) a lot like campus vulcs. Wouldnt be able to give you an accurate life span though because i generally only skate once a week and usually not very hard, so they have lasted a while for me.

Really liked these imagewise. I had them for 2 months for walking only. Then I put them on for skating and in a week of skating the plastic that supports the back of the heel broke which resulted in torn suede on the back of my heels. The torn suede goes all the way from sole to the upper end of shoe, and of course the crack on plastic means that my shock is visible. I patched it with shoe goo and seems to hold and then after 5 sessions the plastic broke in another two places on the back of the heel resultin to torn suede AGAIN. I patched them too... Shitty shoes.

The first run of original e's Koston 1's had a bad habit of blowing out the air bubble.  All my friends with liquid income bought into them and all of them ended up cursing their purchase soon after.

These went bald from just walking around a couple of weeks. Luckily only paid £15 for them. Destroyed them at work after that. Properly shit.

Had some naff stiff cupsole from them that also ate shit at work.

Thought they might be onto something with this though...

I got these when they came out a couple years back and I was happy to support Jerry but these things sucked. For a vulc shoe they felt super stiff the whole time I skated them and never really broke in. Pretty bummed about them
[close]
Those did suck. Didn't Emerica use that same sole on another shoe? Might have been a mid-top. They were really stiff, kinda slippery. Felt impossible to skate in
[close]
I had some Sheckler 7's (from Ross) that were the "same" fusion sole. They sucked too.

I second those Hsu 2's being awful. I remember those and, really, almost any Emerica shoe around that time that had a vulcanized sole got really shitty, like the soles got thicker, stiffer, and were made with a completely different type of rubber that wouldnt skate the normal way, and I was on a huge Emerica kick at that time.

Gotta wonder about them aye? There's something about them that doesn't feel quite right but is it nostalgia that's clouding my/ your judgement? Even just the upgrade in the insole alone should have made them amazing but there's still something missing ...

I had a pair of these Vans Euclid, the shoe felt so floppy after skating them for 3 hours for and the foxing tape started to detach causing the sole to fall apart from the shoe after the second session. I think I may have just gotten a defective pair.

I loved the idea of the holes instead of the stripe and almost got them because of that. This kinda made me feel better about missing that opportunity.
