Where the lightening bolt should be ???
-
Pretty sure those are cast. Forged got the lightning.
-
Same geometry?

Same geometry?
In theory.
Forged baseplates make the trucks 1.5 mm lower than a standard truck which may not sound like much but can cause wheelbite more easily and put your tail lower to the ground. Thus changing the geometry.

What 144p said. And there is also a weight difference as well. It's nominal, but the cast are a touch heavier than the forged.

fuck.. riding geometrically mismatched trucks.. ahh well didnt notice tbh, except for the visuals. Do you guys think its better to be higher in front or back?
-
You might not be. I believe my Thunders say 'Team' on one baseplate and have the lightening bolts on the other...
-
I believe every set I've seen comes like this.
-
Are you sure ones cast and the other is forged? It's really damn obvious, more so than "team" and "lightning bolts"

yeah the ones with the regular kingpins have the thunderbolt, three lines or the "team" - ive always noticed ill have one with the bolt and the other one with the thee lines/team. the forged baseplates come with the bolt as a pair
-
Polished cast baseplates have the 3 lines.
Team trucks with cast baseplates have team on one side.
Forged baseplates have the lightning bolts.
We don't have a forged pro truck in stock but I will assume they too have the lightning bolt.
-
Why'd they put the hangar over the damn bolts?

Maybe they'll put out a special thunder tool for that problem they created.
-
Or like the riser with the Allen key....but it'll be a little crescent wrench....
Bring back the skull.....they'd make a killing if they did a limited release....

do people really have that much trouble fitting a unit tool on the bolts under the hanger? ventures are way worse but you can easily manage to fit a unit tool there.

Close.
We only have one mold for casting the baseplates, which has about 100 casting cavities on it, and the individual casting cavities alternate the patterns. so all three are essentially the same (thunder-bolt, TEAM, or the three lines - which is actually supposed to be a thunder-bolt flag, that Jim T drew long ago). They are all assembled randomly though.
All the forged baseplates are the same, with a lightning-bolt, and a 'Thunder' on the opposite side.
Hope this clears things up!
