Can noone afford a $300 Sony handycam anymore? My old ass camcorder cost $650 this was 10 years ago. This is how you film, down and dirty, you edit the clips later that night. Whipping out your iphone to film tricks at the skatepark? FUCK YOU. I don't even like skating with a phone in my pocket, let alone filming with it
What happened to skate photography/ filming? It's cool now to get iphone clips and blast a gram rather than film something on a camcorder with way better quality? It's way easier to skate knowing your filmer isn't going to instantly delete all your bails on the spot, then run some app to make it look cool.
Hand over cam is almost dead now, fastforwarding looking for the hand is part of the fun. Save your $80 cell plans with the opportunity to call or access the internet, get a FUCKING CAMCORDER.

Some of it, a good bit is like you have to have an actual camera, but numerous edits that were completions are now basically phone ready and upgradeable, not the masterpieces. .but it's worth it to just pull out and film

Buy a camcorder so you can film with it, upload it to your computer, edit it, export it to your phone, and then post it on instagram?
Or you could save time and money and use your phone.

Why would you buy a 300 dollar camera so you can film tricks at a skatepark. Who honestly cares. The only reason anyone used to buy a Sony handicam was because it was the cheapest possible way to film your friends as there were no phones with decent video. N
ow iPhones come with video processors that are much better quality than the handicam you bought 10 years ago, and it's the cheapest way to film your friends.
This thread is stupid. Plus, I've actually seen people film really well with their phones. It's kinda sick, if I can tell the person really tried to make it look good and put effort into it. A couple people, very few, have made the Death Lens thing look legit. Making it work with what you've got is dope. Some people would rather save their money if they aren't trying to make a career in video. Sorry you had to pay $650 10 years ago to film your friends due to lack of technology.

ya know what, you touched me tracer. I'm gonna forego my rent and my phone bill and student loan payments to go buy a camera when I have one that is perfectly fine for what I do in my pocket. If these were guys filming pro parts on a phone than ya but not the rest of us. Plus where do you come from telling us what to film with when we've all asked you for footage and so far none has shown... Anyone have any Tracer footage? Please move out of your parents house and go buy a camera and make the NBD of skate parts for us.

What if someone calls, you have to answer the phone and leave your buddy hanging. Filming can still be fun and trashy on a normal camera, seeing those people with iphone lenses thoo

friend of mine filmed me doing an bs ollie on a bank, he hit a dirty ass shirt on the ground and fell, slamming his phone on the ground and which made for a funny clip for me and him. glad we made that memory and can go back and laugh at it. technology is awesome.

So if I wanna see my stiff legged toe dragged landings.....let me....no production is gonna help....

This is me too for the most part.
By the time one of my buddies got a handycam I was already on the downslope. I think I filmed about 10 decent lines and maybe 30 good tricks on that thing.
Most the time we didnt even break it out because we were skating to have fun. Who the fuck wants to hold a camera when the session is on full blast? Not me thats for fuckin sure.
I would film tricks on my phone now too if I was still a good skateboarder but at 35 im shitty by todays standards thats for fuckin sure.

one thing i do hate is when a homie asks you stop skating to film his stupid park trick for instagram. and gets all pissy for the rest of the day if i say no. I refuse to film park tricks on cell phones for instagram likes.
