JENKEM - An Ode to Brian Anderson on Vimeo (http://vimeo.com/143252633)

That was great. And always a treat to hear Dylan behind the sound of skating, he isn't used too often, but in my opinion it is better that way. Makes it all that much better when he is.

soty
-
That was awesome. Funny that Staba even shows up in the BA tribute video, but i'll be damned if that steep ass tailslide isn't one of the craziest things ever.
-
I understand if BA isn't filming super hard anymore, but I am praying for some secretly stacked goodness for Nike and 3D.

<3 <3 <3 <3
kinda bummed they didnt include his roll-up to the bs tailslide (or was it the smith?) - he looks like he is gonna kill the ledge and its whole family.

so happy that i just rewatched all his parts haha
-
That was great, my only complaint was that it was far too short. His footage in the Pretty Sweet extra needs a proper shine.
-
That backtail he did in the red/black stripped sweater was in Germany and he didn't have health insurance on that trip. Hard to believe these days.
-
Damn, beautiful edit. I'll never understand that frontside 180 or the parking meter. Amazing skating

I feel like the UCSD hubba he tailslid @ 3:20 (also 5050'd) is the tallest hubba ever skated.
It's arm pit high and so mellow that it doesn't get much lower no matter how far out you ollie.
Even if it wasn't knobbed, I doubt anyone would be hitting it nowadays.

That was great and all, but what's up with his big ass pants in that part? ???
-
Awesome stuff. Always love rewatching BA footage. Can't help feeling that he was punching above his weight the day he did the 360 lipslide on the hubba. Seems like a lot of great footage was left out however.

I think there actually might have been something like that in the dvd extras?
It's been a while since I had the dvd in though

Dear lord help this boy

So that ollie across the street in the Yeah Right intro is fake?

BA is one of the best to ever ride a skateboard as a fellow openly tall skateboarder I get extremely hyped when watching any of his footy.
-
BA on of the GOAT

How are you 'openly tall'? Where you ever in the closet tall?
-
BA and Heath always remind me of each other. Both timeless, inimitable styles.

inimitable
Nice!

Yes I was ashamed of being a tall for a long time but since admitting it to my friends/loved ones I feel a sense of freedom I haven't felt since I was a lad.
-
???How you going to have a BA retrospective without the 3 up 3 down line? Or the switch tre from Beauty and the Beast?

LOL, Gnar'd Silky!
And the post about the 3 up 3 down line is so true. Fucking love that.

Yo my one friend kinda hides his height, by having super bad posture. He's like six five, but doesn't look it by always kinda crouching over
Art school kids ??? Too sensitive to stand up straight. He still rips way harder than me tho
I'm six two, and I remember wishing I was shorter in high school, cause it seemed like a lot of the best skaters are on the shorter side, BA and reynolds and some other exceptions excluded.
-
Bump, but I was watching this montage from "On Tap", and it was too good not to post
Barcellona - On Tap (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MtjKWfe8ASk#)
BA has such stylish footage in it. That fakie nosegrind sw fs shuv at about :28 is so tuff, and he even makes a bs nosegrind bs shuv look cool. Red pants kf nose manual line is too relaxed also.
He can string together pretty lengthy lines too, I'm always surprised when I watch his "SOTY" part, at some of that 3rd and Army stuff
-
YES! That montage is so good, that line especially, I was thinking of it when I first saw the "suits" skit in PS
-
I'm remembering a clip from a few years back, possibly one of the Beauty and the Beast things, where he noseslides, boardslides, and bluntslides a rather large, wavy hubba ledge, and all three tricks looked fucking sick. Anyone wanna post that one up? I can't find it.

This one...?
There's a whole clip about that day:
Behind The Scenes - Brian Anderson (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WMwBmRS1uHA#)
-
That's it! Thank you, sir!
-
"An ode to Brian Anderson" - I find that sounds weird. Perhaps the way skate media processes Brian has changed slightly because its known he's gay now. Maybe he knows them and helped named the article and I don't know anything ha.

you're looking into it way too hard... it's a BA appreciation vid and that's about all there is to it...

Digi-Montage (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wgaDSANCkTQ#)
last minute or so of this is some of the best BA footage I've seen still. 2011 BA is the best BA imho
I'd say the stretch between Super Champion Fun Zone and that Girl Australia tour was his best years. BA kills regardless though.
-
Did anybody ever do a gnarlier blunt than that? The next best one was his wavy hubba in yeah right, or maybe some of Heath's. I'm talkin' bs here.
-
probably chris dobstaff or someone dumb
that wavy one in "yeah right" is great. Such good trick selection for such a cool looking spot, and he did it so nice

That wavy one is here in Sydney.
Go there, that spot is fucked up....so, so much harder to skate than he makes it look.
Hence why you haven't ever seen another trick on it. Ever.
-
didn't alex olson lip slide it in something?or am i thinking of a similar spot?
I remember thinking it was weird, cause it was years after "yeah right"
-
it's the spot at about 2:05 right? that sbn and ao skate?
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V351qpI3fAE#t=131 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V351qpI3fAE#t=131)
not trying to prove you wrong, just skate nerd stuff
if it is the same spot, it just shows how crazy BA's trick is, cause it's better, and was years earlier

Yeah, thats it.
I have honestly never seen that before.... whats that from?
-
Ha, you cant be blamed for missing it.
It's from a montage in Transworld's 2006 video, "A Time To Shine"
-
Thanks for bumping this, can't believe I missed this first time around. BA will always be my favourite skater ;D :)
-
God! The On Tap video was so good. All of Reese's footage, and of course, Brian's.
Baggy pants and Dunk Hi's looked so good.
Because no one has mentioned this one yet, what the hell:
