Post by: wuust on January 16, 2017, 10:29:41 PM
Looking to so a calli/vegas/national park tour with the wife.
Any recommendations on what to visit/eat/sleep/skate? either positive or negative.

Only been there a couple times but Yosemite is one of the nicest places I've ever been to.

Yosemite is nice. Monterrey and Santa Cruz are nice too. Depending how far north you want to go, this place is pretty neat.

are you starting in vegas? driving the whole thing? also just be aware the weekend of September 4 is a holiday, and going anywhere is going to be a nightmare.

You can always do the highway 1 trip from SF down to Big Sur.  Like stated above, on a holiday it could be a nightmare but there's quite a bit to see on the coast.  You can hit SF, Pacifica, Santa Cruz, Monterey/Carmel, Big Sur.  There's some decent skateparks in most of those places, too.

Yosemite is pretty awesome, and north of SF you can hit up Russian River/Guerneville which is a favorite of mine.

Valley of Fire is an hour or so outside of Vegas and it's pretty awesome. September should be cooled off enough that you won't get scorched.
There's also some hikes and shit just outside the city that are pretty good.

If you pass through Bishop or Lone Pine, both have some fun skateparks. Lone Pine has Mt. Whitney in the background. Bishop has Schat's bakery, kind of a must-stop type deal. Rainbow Falls and Devil's postpile are pretty rad if you're going down that route. Mammoth has a gnarly park too.

Craig Ranch skatepark in Las Vegas. Maybe pro park if you're feeling saucy.
