if this means a new part from this handsome ginger, i am down for it.
-
all dutch skaters are required to ride skate mental at least one year
-
yes.
-
He got tired of enjois juvenile bullshit
-
... and opted for Skate Mental?
-
Don't worry SFB, I got the joke.

Thanks buddy

Who cares. Dude's irrelevant career needs NIKE checks so bad he's making the shift to NIKE's board brand...

Bummed if true. He fits perfectly on enjoi and I seriously love his skating. My favourite "heelflip skater" if thats a thing.

Only their hat team.
I'm pretty indifferent about it if it were true though. Enjoi feels like an empty shell of its former self. Go from a corporate panda company run by a 43 year old man child to how staba funds his Amsterdam trips to "chill out." Who cares.

Pretty sure he's good friends with Staba. May just be rocking a hat of a homies company. Granted, with Dwindle just cutting Cliche they may be cutting how much money they are spending for certain brands. Probably much easier for Wieger to find a new company to ride for than Jose Rojo.
-
He's also wearing a SM cap in the video and checking their Instagram...

well i guess it is happening.
dude has been one of my favorite skaters for a long time. looking forward to the "welcome to the team" part.
-
This seems like such a lateral move since the companies seem so similar. It's like Plan B to go ride for Element.
I guess Louie will be on his "decline" board.

Finally somebody with the answer but I still believe Louie Barletta is really a bunch of interdimension travelers who kills the other one when reached the age of 34.

dude i thought i was the only one who thought this!! cause i remember enjoi use to be rad with the classic panda graphic in different modes and funny immature joke artsy graphics but now theyve gone so off board with weed graphics, stereotypical mainstream lame graphics(cats and random things), and just graphics that look like they tried so hard to be funny but just turned out lame, like the jimmy carlin alien graphic.
idk, i think when marc was doing the graphics/jokes/art direction it made enjoi what it was, now its just crap. even almost has gone to crap.
-
Bummer. The only reason I watch enjoi videos is because of Nestor, Wieger and Louie.
enjoi of interesting, tick tack

Enjoi is looking rough nowadays. I get that there are generational differences, but Oververt didn't have any of the magic Bag of Suck has, and most everything the brand does is a forced attempt to be quirky or funny. I love Louie Barletta, but it might be time to hang it up as brand manager and just focus on skating.
-
Enjoi sucks and Skate Mental is at least twice as bad.
I like Wieger though.
-

But isn't becoming a brand/team manager is usually the first step towards someone retiring from the pro ranks? There's still lots of talented guys on the team, but it's definitely lost the original vibe. It was the Tilt Mode/San Jose locals team. Now they force dudes to move to San Jose to be on the team (according to Ryan Lay). Similar to how Cliche's Euro vibe changed when they moved to Dwindle. And look how well that worked out.

Normally I'd say you're right but it seems like he's still killing it and hasn't showed many signs of slowing down, skate-wise, so I don't see a need for him to retire.

Didn't he say somewhere that Oververt would be his last full part? I hope that isn't the case.

I'm younger so I don't remember how things were supposed to be, but just against what's out there now enjoi is (still?) really cool. The last thrasher had an interview with louie and it looked like rad trip. i loved oververt too so maybe i'm just stipid whatever but it's my favorite brand right now

And that was years ago

Here's the real question though: why the fuck does Marc Johnson have pro model bearings that come with an 80 page sketchbook and pencil (ad banner)?

Because if Marc Johnson is going to do something, he's going to overdo something.

It's where he writes down his ideas, you know since he's such an intellectual.^^

80 pages is hardly enough to keep up with the creative ideas Marc has on an hourly basis.

Dwindle cut a bunch of riders when they also stopped distributing CLICHE AND zero.

Nike basically owns Numbers, Skate Mental, 917, and since they own Converse they also basically own Polar too.

this dude is mad underrated. that back tail with the long ass boards is one of the best ads ever. enjoi is was past its time. I liked that one ad with the "list of names brainstormed for Bag of Suck" and one of them being Bobby Puleos Greatest Mistake. That graphic of puleo with the lighting and the dumpster snorkeling ads were mad funny for the time. still never made sense of what he was doing on the team to begin with but it was tight. wonder if he has a bag of suck part on someones hard drive somewhere someone get puleo over here free max b

I shouldn't be surprised because it's SM but that graphic is terrible. Enjoi did the ginger intro joke way better.
It's a shame that their team is so awesome (Wieger, Curtin, Plunkett, Karsten, etc.) but I can never bring myself to buy any of their shit.

It's actually not that bad. It's a reference to two super popular Dutch bar/drunk food snacks.
