Title: Best skateshop in DC area
Post by: Yossi on April 26, 2017, 10:47:44 AM
I'm traveling to the US for work for a few days next week. What's the best shop in the DC area? Also, I will have only one chance to skate, so I'm probably going to hit Pulaski. Is this spot a bust during the week, and would I be better off hitting up a skate park in the area? Thanks

You should definitely head to Pulaski in the middle of a week day.

Pitcrew is in Frederick, MD but that's the one you want to go to. Get me a shirt. Otherwise make sure you touch everything within reach at any Smithsonian facility.

Thanks for the info, shit_for_brains.

I'm reading that there are only mmj shops in DC right now, but there are legal (semi-legal?) delivery services that hook you up for a donation.  Anyone have any experience with these? Trying to get super high and hit up some museums.

Pitcrew is a great shop, worth a drive if you have time but maybe an hour from the city give or take.

If you're confined to the city Palace5 is totally fine just not as big/old as Pitcrew. There's also Art under Pressure on U st? Not sure if they still exist. Skate/Graf shop I guess that's Bureau now. Shaw is fun, I think bridge spot is pretty much gone, there's one by RFK stadium (maloof), nice parks in the suburbs--Walker Mill and Laurel probably my favorites. If you skate transition there's Green Skate Lab in Brookland, a pool coping DIY bowl that's always open; and a wooden/pool coping (I think) bowl near Union Market that's open sometimes.
