Hey Guys,
As I am sure you can tell, and probably hate, the new site is up. Let me know if anything is broken/not working as expected.

They have a white outline, do you want a different background color? Also, added a white dividing line to the posted area.

Yes and I got feedback from people who said it was way better then before, but what issues do you have with it and we can see what we can do.

honestly, i think i will just get used to it (hate change) but liked how it felt more personal before which i can see with ice nine picture that on computer view it is the same where there are avatars, post count rep, sigs, etc .. it's easier for me to read and separate individual posts versus viewing them stacked on op of each other .. does any of that make sense?

You might need to clear you cache on your browser or something, I am confirming it on windows 7 (that is what your OS looks like) but mine likes like the ones here:

You might need to clear out your cache, your browser may have the old sites CSS still.

The little bubbles by the side of each board on the front page don't seem to change color when a new post is made to the board, only going from speech bubble icons to a folder icon.

my username is cut off on the top bar where it has home, help, search, profile, and my messages. not really that big of a problem, but its just an aesthetic thing.

I got really used to the full site on my phone. Not sure how I feel about the mobile theme. Am I meant to be seeing avatars? Where's the Gnar button?

I am currently viewing slap from a samsung device running opera however this should work on any browser: I went to the browser settings menu and switched the user agent to "desktop". Also, this always works with shitty youtube refusing to display some videos on mobile because they are supposedly unavailable for that. The desktop mode displays everything the same way my laptop does (also opera) and the mobile view leaves avatars and clutter aside. I don't know about gnar button but the ignore button is missing even on the desktop version and also I am not ignored any more so maybe that function is not available from now on...

If you use rss you gotta update your feed like below for it to work again.

you can add ";limit= (number from 5-255)" to the end to increase the amount of posts in your feed. default is 5
my old feed had something before the /index.php that isnt there anymore.

In the Chrome menu on mobile I checked the box labeled "request Desktop Site" and that worked for me, does that work for you?

I have them in a section updated on the site, but they are all super broken cause no one is updating/maintaing links/images etc... I am trying to figure out if it is worth putting up a 50% broken portion of the site, what do you guys think?

What happened to the ignore user function?
I just added it back down by the report to moderator link at the bottom of each post. Also, there is now a manage buddy/ignore list in your profile as well.

Would like avatars also. Also the colors between posts are too similar IMO. Old way was more clear where it all changes from one post to another. Now it's all a bit of a mess on mobile especially. Also getting to the unread link on mobile was difficult. After clicking on my avatar the drop down menu went behind the search bar, which made clicking the links a bit difficult.
Other than that, I like it. Seems much faster. 👍

The other dropdown menu at the bottom of the page to navigate between forum sections. Say you're in a thread in Whatever and want to go to Useless Wooden Toy Banter. The dropdown menu only shows Whatever.

On mobile I have no option to click to the last post in a thread from the board. That little box with the arrow is not there. This is on mobile safari.

I wanna thank you for all the effort you’re putting into this.
Here’s some suggestions for mobile:
1. Avatars below the username.
2. Move those icons w/e they are elsewhere (after the user name perhaps?)
3. Move the quote button with the ignore etc. buttons
4. Make rep & post count visible
5. Reduce the white space by having the thread title & time next to the avatar. I tend to forget which thread I’m in and liked that you could check above every post.
6. Somehow make the sigs more clearly sigs. Now it can be confusing as fuck.
7. Make the colors between posts differ more. There needs to be more contrast for it to be clearer when it changes to a new post.
8. Those lines that the actual post is between are good. Maybe put a similar line (but not the same) between posts.
9. Make the reply box bigger.
10. Search box masks the drop down from the avatar.
I attached some pics to make it clearer.
1st is about it being unclear when a post ends and a new one begins.
2nd is about sigs being too similar to posts.
3rd is about unclarity as well. Is it an empty post or a post from someone without a sig?
4th is about the reply box.

The mobile view is brutal, there so much wrong with it I'm not sure where to start. One major thing is why is the whole thing got the margin or padding reducing the content width for no reason . The purple blue bars down the size are pointless. Optimize for the content and readability.
Make the content 100% width, get rid of all these crazy ass colours. Simplify it as best you can. If your using a theme just pick the simplest these available.

Dark mode should change the blue to 75% grey. The contrast makes that blue a lot harsher on the eyes.

gnar kook was included in the mobile changes which just got pushed through the cache, check now you should be able to.

in dark mode, some text is unreadable, like the "unread, replies, logout" window that appears when you put the mouse on your avatar at top right of the screen, all white !

Some of the changes requested were made already, but hadn't cleared the cache I will mark off what I think I have address but let me know if the solutions is not suitable.
1. Avatars below the username. -- I moved them to the right is this ok?
2. Move those icons w/e they are elsewhere (after the user name perhaps?) -- Working on this area
3. Move the quote button with the ignore etc. buttons -- This is hard because that require it to actually change the physical layout for mobile vs adjusting via CSS.
4. Make rep & post count visible -- Done
5. Reduce the white space by having the thread title & time next to the avatar. I tend to forget which thread I’m in and liked that you could check above every post. -- Working on this area
6. Somehow make the sigs more clearly sigs. Now it can be confusing as fuck. -- Added a dotted border to seperate these, but I an inset them or other treatments if this is not good.
7. Make the colors between posts differ more. There needs to be more contrast for it to be clearer when it changes to a new post. -- Did this earlier just cleared the cache.
8. Those lines that the actual post is between are good. Maybe put a similar line (but not the same) between posts.

Times are based PST where we are located, it is correct for me.

We're on the same page for the drop down menu but it looks different on my phone compared to the screenshot you posted. I've attached what it looks like on my iPhone 5 running iOS 10.3.3.
I like the new avatar and alternating color scheme between posts. The darker portion is slightly too dark to me but I don't want to nitpick if other people like it.
I appreciate the work! Everyone thank Nick because he probably has more important stuff to do than this!

We're on the same page for the drop down menu but it looks different on my phone compared to the screenshot you posted. I've attached what it looks like on my iPhone 5 running iOS 10.3.3.
I like the new avatar and alternating color scheme between posts. The darker portion is slightly too dark to me but I don't want to nitpick if other people like it.

Screenshot helped a lot, apparently it was an iOS safari bug, but I tested my fix in the iOS emulator and it works now. Can you confirm?

the time schedule of the messages is wrong, or I see in the future
in dark mode, some text is unreadable, like the "unread, replies, logout" window that appears when you put the mouse on your avatar at top right of the screen, all white !

The mobile view is brutal, there so much wrong with it I'm not sure where to start. One major thing is why is the whole thing got the margin or padding reducing the content width for no reason . The purple blue bars down the size are pointless. Optimize for the content and readability.
Make the content 100% width, get rid of all these crazy ass colours. Simplify it as best you can. If your using a theme just pick the simplest these available.

I've been getting the "webpage repeated crashed" warning when there is an over abundance of YouTube windows or animated gifs.

everytime when i click on say useless wooden toy
banter or any other slap-intern-link that redirects
me to another sub-site of slap, the top ad banner
always resizes - it goes from big to smaller - that
causes some annoying shifts and disarrangements
in my window. fo example if i go back from photos
and try to click on the button for useless wooden
toy banter before the topbanner resizes i will miss
the link for UTB since it changes position once the
topbanner went from bigger to smaller. i hope it is

Another suggestion for mobile: make the page number links more spaced out. Now they’re a bit too close together IMO for the site to be totally functional without ever zooming in. 🙂

On the mobile site it acts weird when you try to zoom on a liked image. It didn't do this initially after the change but now when you zoom it throws you all over the page.

YouTube works for me, it just doesn’t register the videos as viewed on my account. Never has with the embeds. But Instagram embeds don’t work for me anymore on desktop (Safari also). It’s pretty damn annoying.

-When I try to quote a post instead going to my quick reply it goes to the separate reply page

Does SMF have a plug-in for automatic image resizing? Viewing posts with pictures on mobile isn't an issue because the pics are auto resized, but viewing on a desktop is disgusting.
For those that aren't aware, adding the width parameter to an image tag will keep it from being huge.
