20 seconds in and the first clip is the cliche/iconic face zoom
Made me laugh out loud at work

I can't wait to watch the rest of this though!

Caleb Barnett skating to the Sicario soundtrack is genius, and whoever said Andrew Allen is *overrated is* not welcome in polite society.

Caleb rips. The BA comparisons were spot-on. I don't see why Benny Maglinao is so opposed to putting Donovon Piscopo footage to music. Andrew Allen's part seemed really short. Throwing all the tour footage in at the end was a nice touch.

Yeah i'd like to see a lot less of Donny in 2017, dude loves the mirror. Andrew Allen is a living legend and must be protected. Swan's stuff was the best he's ever put out, so smooth. Great video, great music.

The only thing that sullied this for me was the Sean Pablo footage.  I don't get it...

Caleb Barnett is sick.  I'm psyched to see more footage down the road.  The impossible into the bank was very proper. Andrew Allen is a modern gentleman and I love seeing any footage of him.  His slams are so unique too.

pause at 8:51 for a k rod sighting. lots of stuff filmed in cincy, aa kick flip into the bank and the bowl lines were so sick.

This was sick as expected. That Caleb dude is really good. AA is the best. His front 5050 backside flip out on that ledge was awesome. Ben’s roll in 5-0 was a highlight as well.

I generally really like Hockey edits but that was eh.  First half was pretty hard to get through... do we really need to slow-mo people missing tricks?

I like John Fitzgerald footage... wish there was more of him/less of Piscopo.

Highlights were Big John's fs salad in the bowl (a stylish and difficult fucking trick) and I don't know, Ben Kadow's snot rocket?

Would've been a great 5 minute video.

That clip. So sick! I wonder if that's what he was planning to do or if he would've taken it if he had ran into the tape and knocked over all the cones. Clip is raw with whatever outcome. That impossible over the rail into the skinny brick bank had me stoked also

I like that Caleb guy, but don't really see the BA comparisons? Only thing that made me kinda think that, was the bigflip over the can, which was kinda reminiscent of a bigflip BA did at Third & Army (was in Yeah Right or the SOTY vid, and a Fourstar ad).

Yeah, obviously AA is great as always. Nothing much to add there.

Sean Pablo footage was admittedly better than I was expecting, but my expectations were low.

Good video, liked II better though, and some of the slo-mo replays were too much. Didn't need to see the shot of Pablo kf bs tailing a ledge, in Sid Vicious cosplay, slowed down.

You can see BA in that 5-0 on the really tall power box (or was it a manny?).  Has that same dipped low approach with the arms crossed

Andrew Allen is on a fucking tear in this one, wow.
Some of that bank footage was ripe for disaster, damn. Pretty incredible part with a lot of work put into it.

Caleb was definitely great too and I'm eager to see more of what he puts out to the world. Very fast and powerful skating.

John Fitzgerald is always great and this didn't disappoint, I just wish there was more.

Donovan felt a little off to me--I like his previous footage a lot but something about this stuff felt a little too contrived. I really, really dislike that white handkerchief hanging out of his back pocket. I know that sounds petty as shit but it's a truly distracting and an awful look. As we all know, style is everything in skating and that thing is fucking lame, no bones about it. It looks like he's trying too hard to pick up where Dylan left off or something.

Wish there was more Ben K footage, especially since he just went pro. Hoping that he has been stacking clips for something else but I dunno, seems weird to not give your board sponsor footage for their new video? Has he been hurt? Cause if he hasn't been hurt and he's not holding on for something else, what the fuck is he doing?

Good video overall for sure. Gonna watch it a few times to let it digest. I really appreciate Benny's filming/editing. He's doing the brand justice, which is not easy work. He's great at capturing a vibe and hyper distilling it.

Considering that hockey II came out a year ago, they stacked a lot of footage for this outside of all the other shit they do. Strobeck is filming something new,I don't know if it's Supreme related or what, but guaranteed there will be more of everyone. To me this one was all about Caleb and Andrew, with the others as filler and whatnot. John is coming back from that knee injury pretty good so I'm sure we'll see more of him(soon hopefully). Donovan is getting some flair, must've been looking at photos from his Zero days.

Definitely agree that this was the Caleb and Andrew show, for sure.
I guess the question, Fitzgerald aside, is how did it end up that way?
Was that the original intent or is that just how it played out in editing because those two had the most footage?

It really seems as the intent to make it about them, but probably footage quantity.Caleb is the new dude so it works as a welcome part just like AA in II. A full length would be great, but the wait for that would be crazy.

There were some parts of this vid that made me legitimately think there is one consonant too many in the name of this company.

Hokey.

hok·ey
ˈhōkē/Submit
adjectiveNORTH AMERICANinformal
mawkishly sentimental.
"a good-hearted, slightly hokey song"

noticeably contrived.
"a hokey country-western accent"

The positives outweighed them this time, but the whole point of jacking off in the mirror is the shame that comes after climax when you can take a good hard look at yourself and your faults.

Otherwise, you could just jizz on the christmas wrapping before you wrap presents to give to the relatives you hate.

I don't see why Benny Maglinao is so opposed to putting Donovon Piscopo footage to music. Andrew Allen's part seemed really short.

More Donny re-edits for me!

Surprised no one has complained about the grade 9 film class "punk rock art film" at the beginning of the vid that I'm convinced Ben edited and submitted. It was fucking painfully lame.

AA is amazing. Caleb footage was good wish there was more, same with Fitzgerald. I can’t help focusing on Donovan’s pants, so distracting.  For Ben’s first “pro” part, this was lacking, the only thing noteworthy was the roll in 5-0. Whole thing should have been 10 min shorter, the last 5 min were repeat tricks in slow motion.

AA has been my favorite skater for 10 years now which sounds crazy, glad he's still putting out great footage.
Caleb was raw, Don and Jon are so gnarly, need more Ben.
As pretentious as it seems, I like how far from typical skate video formula these hockey vids are.

I'd be stoked to see Sean do a crook to fakie followed by a fakie heelflip, but that'll be day. Is he scared of progression? Or too comfotable? Josh Kasper syndrome.

Just putting it out there Sean Pablo has been better than Ben K for a good 12-18 months. Ben K went for that crazy gap to lip in Hockey 2, but other than that has been a real snorefest.

this was good but to long for the amount of skating in it. I liked Donovan and AA's parts the best. Caleb had some good tricks, not my favourite. Also ben k shouldn't be pro, he lacked so much footage in this and really the only tricks I remember from him in the past are the kinked boardslide and him hitting his face with his board, he's very forgettable

Thats utterly ridiculous. I'd like to see Swan switch Smith a rail from flat, switch board slide double kinked rail, back 360 an alley, basically his whole Hockey II part is something that Sean will never bring the pipe down to (mami).

I don't really get it either. Sometimes he skates at an interesting angle and occasionally has an interesting trick selection, but usually it's pretty underwhelming shuv-its and boardslides.

Don't get me wrong, I enjoy watching him skate, but the level of praise he gets on slap makes me feel like I'm missing something.

I feel the same. He's good, and I enjoy his footage thoroughly. However, it's almost like some slap heads are the cult following behind an decent film.

Caleb really grew into his skating. He used to skate with Dashawn Jordan here in AZ, so it's crazy to see where he ended up. That pop shuv was a thing of beauty and I liked how he hugged the curb afterwards.

Donovan is pretty forgettable at this point for me. Kickflip bonk was nice. Wish there was more John and Kadow footy. That's my favorite part bout hockey.

I wonder if they ever get distracted filming a trick because they are focusing on making a serious face rolling up to a trick (ben/swan)

Just rewatched this. I liked it a lot more the second time, including AA who was a clear standout. The sicario song and the punk song were great, it's just weird that so much of the second half doesn't have any music. It feels twice as long, and not in a good way.

Also, the attached image flashed on the screen at 8:51 right after a list of the team names. Reckon that's kevin rodriguez?

Right after that there's no music until the slow motion outro. Kind of seems like they made the first half and then the tour video, and then just put them together, no? Not saying that's a bad thing either, just that it appears that way.

Ben's face at the end was the exact same as mine when I saw him land that shit! I love the diversity in skating these days, from a team like Primitive to this.

Same!

I personally enjoyed the long form, over the top editing. With attention spans getting worse by the minute, it's almost like they dare you to stay and reward you with Ben's two face melter clips! He's very much the less is more type and I'm down with it.
