Pronounced "Monsieur Oiseau," this guy is a big deal in France, now on his third album. Lots of weird noises, choppy
beats, guest female rappers/vocalists, and computer voice interludes a la
Midnight Marauders. Wacky, dark and hectic, might be a good way to describe it. Something in his music reminds me of that 80s song "Putting On The Ritz" (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OG3PnQ3tgzY) by Taco, but with a more sinister touch. Gets annoying in parts, like on the pounding "Bruce Willis Is Dead," but other tracks like "Two Takes It feat. Carmen Castro," (a nod to the classic "It Takes Two"), "Cut Dick," and "Jo" are so amusing that it
makes it worth a listen or two. A bit jarring from start to finish, this is definitely an album for those with eclectic tastes. Guess he made a film too, called "Steak," with Sebastien Tellier, about a gang of milk drinking youths wreaking havoc by performing extreme facelifts. Would love to see that weirdness someday. Ah, the French.
