but it wasn’t until his stand-out part in adidas’ “Diagonal” video in 2009
that he was really noticed by the rest of the world. As a grown-ass man
of 32 years, he’s been holding it down with a raw/tech combo on the streets
of Barcelona since before you could point it out on a map. We’ve got a couple
recent moves for you here, plus his infamous part from “Diagonal” in its entirety,
as well as some words. Watch for more new footy in the upcoming LRG video…

What’s your full name?
Raul Navarro Moreno.

Where are you from?
El Prat, Spain.

How old are you are and how long have you been skating?
I am 32-years-old and I have been skating for 22 years.

Damn dude, you’re not sick of it?
No, for sure not.

Who do you ride for?
Nomad boards, adidas shoes, LRG clothing, Skull Candy headphones, and FTC skateshop.

How did you first get sponsored?
I went to a contest in Barcelona and got first place. I got sponsored by a shop, then a distributor, then a Spanish company. This was maybe 1992 or 1993.

How did you first get sponsored?
I went to a contest in Barcelona and got first place. I got sponsored by a shop, then a distributor, then a Spanish company. This was maybe 1992 or 1993.

You’re an OG!
Yeah, kind of.

Where did you start?
In my neighborhood, with a plastic banana board. I rode that for a few years, then got a good board. After a few years I started meeting people and skating in Barcelona more.

How far away from Barcelona were you?
About 15 minutes. But it seemed like a big city, far away. It was an adventure to go there, I was scared. I didn’t tell my parents when I would go, I was too young!

What was your favorite era for skating Barcelona?
1998. First pros coming to Barcelona. Good times back then.

Who are some of the best Spanish skaters from back then?
Enrique Lorenzo, Pablo Domingues, Marcos Gomez… some people from Barcelona were so good. Not many of them still skate.

How long have you been riding for adidas?
Five years now.

How was filming for the Diagonal video?
Everybody traveled a lot. I went to LA and SF, Portugal, a lot of places. It’s good to ride for a big company, you can travel more!

Are you happy with that part?
I’m never happy with any of my parts! If I was happy, I should quit skateboarding!

Are you filming for anything now?
I just finished filming for the LRG video that is coming out soon. I’m also filming for Nomad, for the 10 year anniversary promo.

What does the future hold for Barcelona do you think?
I think it’s gonna be like SF, but slower to come- I think it’s gonna be skate stopped soon. Police are mad with skaters now. It’s still full of spots, especially outside of the city. We still find spots all the time. It will just be harder in the future.

Thanks?
Anthony Claravall, Joe Brook, Tadashi, LRG, adidas, Nomad, all my sponsors, my family, my wife Carmen, all the people from Barcelona.
