He rocks Half-Cabs and rides Indy 139's. Why wouldn't he be popular on SLAP?

I know that the Slap boards aren't too big on originality (kook away, kids), plus this dude looks like a hippie. But then he's got Slap favorite Thiebaud backing him and he can do tricks that we can't do, like casper wallrides. So what is the general consensus on this kid?

i was really impressed the first time i ever saw him, but every part since then has looked the same.

But, looking at other pros, they all do the same shit, his just stands out more that its the same, because it's different. make sense?

That reminds me of that line from Anchorman.

Pretty weak in my opinion. I love watching "fun skating", don't get me wrong. But sometimes you need some real substance. Doesn't seem like this dude is willing to just throw the board down and skate like a normal person.

It's sorta like whipped cream, the stuff is great, but it's gotta be a topping on something better. Shit can't stand up on it's own.

Is there a new part after his Death Skateboards part? I find him entertaining, but his parts have all looked the same after that first one that came out.

That first part that came out of his was pretty interesting, but I do feel that he's wearing thin. Like someone else said, he's gotta have a little more there before he'll really win me over.
That and in my eyes Patrick Melcher outstaged him hard in Better Than Life, in a more balanced fashion.

was it that? i can't remember the trick exactly. i'm not sure of details of the full story, but it was something along the lines of this certain skater doing something at a spot, being stoked on it and telling richie about it, and then richie going to that same spot afterwards and shooting/filming the same trick.

The dude does some different ish, but it seems way too contrived and over the top.

aside from that, heard a first hand story about that dude on some serious prima donna shit.

Something about some Clipper ledge trick, calling up 3 filmers, and 3 photographers (2 worked for the same mag).
Dude lands his trick in a short while.  Does it like 4 more times.
Other guys want to skate another spot, but Richie wants to get a couple more times, says he'll meet up in a short while.
Turns out the dude was there for a solid 4 or 5 more hours, doing the same exact shit over and over again.
Just seems a tad bit excessive.

I remember when his first part he just uploaded online made everyone so hyped, but then he had that Ipath ad just doing a frontside wallride and I thought it was so wack. I'll judge after I see his TWS part, but he has the risk of just being some anomaly, like a gimmick skater a la Barletta.

I dont think Barletta is gimmicky.  Sure he has some goofy tricks but he has some real bangers too.

You can't compare Barletta to him. Enjoi is pushing him into that gimmicky role a bit I think because it worked fine in the past.

Yeah but could do all the other shit if he wanted to, i think it was his Slap Week With where he said he filmed a bunch of tech shit or something for bag of suck but it wasn't used because it wouldn't work well with all his goofy shit.

I guess he's alright. Some of it I like, but most of seems more of novelty and shit. It seems like this dude is way into himself and his pirate/hippy attire.
