I'm not into DIJ (just to be clear) and I know there's no definitive verdict on DIJ's nazism/ racism but I feel the edgelord argument often gets thrown up as defense/ smokescreen when talking about actually racist bands/ musicians/ artists (as with HWM, if you'd call them that('that' referreing to bands/ musicians/ artists)). So that was why I compared them, but then again the comparison is useless cause one actually is a 'good' band and the other is a dog's breakfast.

Someone could say:
-I like DIJ because I like the music and I agree with their ideology
-I like DIJ because I like the music and I don't care about the ideology

i don't think Douglas P is a nazi, or a sympathizer even, but i understand why people would have problems with it.  i like the music, but I could definitely do without all of the imagery.  something that was edgy in post-war England has a whole different context today

he made so many dubious euro-centric/ xenophobic remarks is merely semantics at this point, I'm sure he does not consider himself to be a nazi, and so I can't either really, but there's more then just edgy-ness.
The argument of post war nazi-symbolism to shock seems like an odd one to me as I it was something that was 'happening' but  close-to-everyone moved on. Clinging to that as justification seems forced or ill-concieved at best, and I don't think Douglas P ill-concieves anything, really.

I'll take this time to mention that I believe that The Highway Murderers, and perhaps JJ have connections to the Nazi Lowriders. This is just speculation, I don't have enough evidence to comfortable assert this so just consider it a conspiracy theory.

The wiki for Peckerwood Gangs, which are like surf/punk gangs mostly in California cites our good friend Jay Adams as a prime example of a peckerwood.
