Burnett called that huge rail the Elmendorf rail in the most recent episode so that was cool. Also Thrasher had one of their little KOTR snippets up this week talking about how KWalks ollied the Dompierre gap.

I'm bummed there's more contest spread out to next week. Not that I don't wanna see more skating but I liked the old season and a finale held at a later date structure. That seemed to work fine for the past two seasons even if the finales are usually kind of a shit show.

Fuck i only just picked up on the theme of this year's teams. It's like the building blocks of phenomenon: The Foundation upon which the Elements assemble to create what is Real. Good show.

The most stressful part of the show is when the TMs are texting and watching clips on their phone while they drive.

Nick Merlino is noble donkey, pulling cart.

Sinclair is peasant teasing donkey with carrot.

But is no carrot.

Such dishonor.

Has anything else been done over the wedge gap? I have some vague memory of someone ollieing it in the past, but I couldn't give you a name and I kinda feel like maybe I'm imagining it.
[close]
Nope. Skateboarder mag had a “15 things you don’t know about the wedge” article and it said its a common misconception, but that was another spot or something.

Alright, here’s a bit of controversy I wanna sell: at that little rail where both teams put down wood on the woodchips for a run way: when real and element were there they extended the wood runway over the first stair with boards supporting it, even adding a little bump. That makes the rail shorter in length and height, and comes off as cheap and corny. I get a runway over woodchips, but when you start using the wood run up to shrink the rail its a step too far.
When foundation skated the rail, they didn’t extend the wood over the stairs.

I'm pretty sure Randy Colvin did it back in the early to mid 90s pushing mongo.
Are you a kook? If you would say this, the answer is “YES”
I quit skating for a time due to piling out

Dakota Servold actually talks about stuff like this in his Thrasher interview this month. Like if you're not at least touching some concrete, it doesn't count. Apparently, he's the wood guy for spots so I'd imagine he set up those up.

The rails that Foundation and Real/Element skated for the nosegrind nollie flip were different. Foundation skated a 6 stair that had a weird double top stair hence the roll up. The other teams skated an 8 stair with a kicker at the top.

settle down people ... this is soty all over again. foundation might not win (it is judged on points after all), but they will forever stay the peoples' champs. true underdogs, not giving a fuck. hopefully, their board sales pick up significantly after this

probably the same reason they had to put *NOT ACTUAL BABIES* on screen every time they cut to them

you can piss and shit in a blender then drink it, but when you want to put the likeness of an infant in harm's way, FCC won't let it fly

element transforming that rail into a park rail was the lamest shit

I thought maybe the black out on the babies eyes was because it was from a certain doll/toy company and they didn't want to pay for the rights to use their shit?
