i guess i can see the appeal of buying blank ccs decks ($$), but who's buying the ccs decks with graphics? especially these new ones they're promoting?

Any type of small ass square of "skate" wax for $5 when you can get a huge ass brick for $3 at Hobby Lobby.

Sometimes you might get your grip clogged up with fine sand. It gets it off and all sorts of non sticky dirty off too but who cares about grip being dirty unless it's clogging it up and that happens very rarely so it's not very essential IMO. I got a belt sander cleaner as it's the same thing but cheaper. Got a few spots that'll clog up your griptape every now and then.

guy in my office and I both are charles bradley fans and he knows I skate so he showed me the quartet collab they did in memory of charles bradley

I was ready to buy one to skate when i noticed the 8.5" sold out. he bought the 8.1" as a wall hanger (he's never stepped on a board in his life) and couldn't understand why I wouldn't just buy the 8.1" instead since they were "only like a half inch difference"

i managed to get one from tactics and have it hanging up. i love charles bradley and have all his shit. the new dap tone 45 is gonna be sick!

There's this illustrator in my office who is a weird anime guy. I showed him the dragon ball z stuff when it first was announced and he bought everything he could. He found the world of skateboard collectors all on his own and he's never skated or gone outside in his life.

that's pretty funny. yeah, i kinda get the impression that a lot of this skate-adjacent merchandise is being appropriated by the comic book crowd (see below). hey, good for p-rod and ed though! (i also feel like that crowd might overlap with the cat owning crowd, and if so, may i interest anyone in a shake junt lint roller?)

Toy Machine has some cool socks, I have a few pairs and could see myself buying more. I like socks a lot and they rarely get expensive (does Stance count as a skate company?) and it's another way of supporting a brand that doesn't break the bank or require me to purchase a mediocre to crappy product.

*Edit: I also think those sock puppets look sick and should make a comeback. Does anyone know if they sold well?

That wax is ok for advanced skaters but intermediate skaters won’t be able to use it.

i actually dig that. I would never buy it but being a big hockey/ba fan i'd fuck with it. would be sick to wear in my adult league.

I bought one of these just because I like vinyl and figured I should probably pick one up while they're out. I always figured the reason Crailtap and NHS make those novelty items was because they were cheap and made in China and the mark up was crazy high for how little they paid for them. Also Toy Machine socks are cool.

Have to say I'm mad guilty for considering and often buying skate shit. The crap. I nearly bought that Girl skateboards lamp the other day. Somehow I stopped myself. I guess I reason it by thinking, well lamps suck, so might as well have a cooler lamp than one from Walmart. It is also about 6 times the price though.
The socks thing I don't really get. That's about as equivalent as talking about shirts. Cant believe someones buying skate t-shirts when you can get blank ones for so cheap.
I look at it as if youre buying this stuff, the companies are making money and hopefully youre just supporting the skate industry. Then I don't feel as bad.

yup, I'm waiting on the primitive DBZ socks to go on clearance somewhere... and also Crailtap has a chocolate wall clock I think will look good in my

I did wonder who was buying these

The rick and morty clocks are sold out

I honestly thought about buying that for shits and giggles. I’d buy the girl lamp in heartbeat though. That things tight.

Anything from the brand Futur, in my local shop (in France) it is so fucking expensive.
70e for a shirt, 150e for sweater, 270e for a hoodie.

I saw a grown man (mid to late 20's) who actually rips, skating a blind deck and thought it was strange that someone actually paid money for a blind deck and wasn't a 11 year old kid.

Sometimes people get caught in a bubble, and just live like it's 2001 forever. I also met an older transition guy rocking a blind deck, I didn't say anything.
