REAL completes
« on: July 14, 2018, 01:54:33 PM »
I bought a REAL complete today (real deck, real wheels, anchor trucks?? and some random abec 5s)

It skated like complete shit and didn't pop at all

Are completes really that bad that they don't work like a regular skateboard does?
Also the trucks feel like plastic..

Completes are meant for kids and those who don’t know the components of a skateboard. Are you really surprised it felt shit?

Those are meant to be somewhere between a toy and a real set up for kids who aren't lifers.

Deluxe consistently has good wood.  Mistake #1 was buying a complete with ultra generic parts.  In good news, you have a skateboard!

I'm assuming you're not a beginner since you know how a board is supposed to feel. And if you already skate, even if fairly recently, you would not have bought a complete with generic trucks. I couldn't see why the deck is shitty. Even Real's recycled price point decks are made at Generator.

I’ve always wondered where those companies gets those weird-branded generic trucks, seems like every distro has their own shitty truck for their completes. Like, do they sell those trucks in bulk somewhere in china or what, never seen those things anywhere outside those completes...

Sometimes certain wheels and new bearings can deaden the perceived pop of a board, making it sound soggy. That's probably why it seems shitty. The trucks are probably complete unskatable shit to anyone with measurable skateboarding experience though.

I know real has the recycled wood program on their price point....maybe they recycle anchors into trucks.....it's possible.....
