Got as far as JJ before it crashed, and I have to say: it's pretty shit so far.

Skateboarding is probably excellent, but the soulless lack of any kind of vibe kinda meant it was doomed from the outset and I don't remember any of it.

Non YouTube link that still works, I think. Surprised not many people in the premier thread were talking about Justin Henry. That’s his name right? He was the highlight of the video for me. Classic part, and I don’t think there’s a single trick that doesn’t need to be in there. Everyone else was cool too, wish there was more JJ and Al Davis of course.

Don't know about this one. I'm not sure how many skaters are ready to fuck up some $200 jeans that are difficult to care for. I've had a few pairs over the last 5 years, but I never really skate in them.

The skating was excellent, no doubt...

but my main takeaway is that the spirit of AWS is really truly dead. I had hoped Quasi could carry the torch for skate vids with the same ambition and spectacle as a Photosynthesis or a Mind Field, but this just doesn't stand out visually from the constant stream of skate vids being pumped out by the dozen. Just feels uninspired.

Maybe that's unfair to Quasi. I'm just a sad AWS 1.0 fan boy with nowhere to turn.

Not even that but skating in raw denim like that in the sun just gets so damn nasty with all the sweat that will form. I skated in the RAW Levis 501s and it was like I pissed in my pants after skating in them.
