Ordering Online in Canada
« on: July 19, 2018, 07:39:05 PM »
any tips on where to shop online?

Is it ever a better deal to order from the states and pay shipping and stuff?

I ordered a few things from SkateWarehouse a couple of weeks ago and was really surprised how fast the order came. It took four days to arrive and the cost was pretty spot on to what id pay here in Canada.

Hardly ever in my experience, for the things I like. Sometimes a good sale can pop up but shipping costs usually mark the shoes about as much as you'd pay in a shop.

I'd say order online from actual skateshops like Blue Tile, Sanction, Ninetimes, Green Apple, etc. Or places like Empire. They'll usually ship across the country.

Not many Canadian shops offer free shipping; and if you're paying for shipping, even if you get a sale somewhere, you're often not saving much over full price at your local shop. Empire and Exo in Quebec and Top Of The World in Ottawa offer free shipping over $100.

Ordering from the US, unless you're getting an insane deal or buying something you can't find at all in Canada, it's rarely worth it after the shipping/conversion.

I've been looking around and find most places offer free shipping over $100 some you just need to read their shipping policy first.

I don't really have a close shop to me except zumiez but their selection is kinda garbage.

Something I've realized though is that you pay less tax buying something from alberta than you would in ontario

If ordered from skate warehouse once and had to pay duty....it sucks....I ordered stuff from ninetimes and the price was good....shipping wasn't too bad.

there are some deals to be had for sure.

the zumiez complete packages can be taken advantage of somewhat if you find a sale deck that qualifies for one of the cheaper packages then pick the more expensive truck and wheel options they give you. This was for sure the cheapest way to put together an acceptable complete besides like a minilogo amazon thing
